Triburst, Hellfire, other "full auto" trigger gadgets

I've read about a lot of these gadgets. The claim is that the thing-a-majig can be mounted externally, and manipulates the trigger in such a fashion as to duplicate full auto fire. Do these things work? I rented a few machineguns at Knob Creek this spring, and I'm hooked! Unfortunetly, I don't see any class 3 weapons in my near future. At least not until October......when I'll be going to Knob Creek again!! :)

Waste of time, and will just draw unwanted attention to yourself. IMHO.

Garbage!!! Ever see videos of those people shooting using those things??? They fire from the hip!! Doing that you MIGHT beable to hit a barn a few times at 25 yards!

It might not be the answer you want, but IMHO they are all junk. I have seen some people get them to work, but then only when firing from the hip. I bought one of those "TAC Trigger" things when I first got the full-auto bug. It was junk and a waste of hard earned money.

If you want to play with FA, take my advice and buy the real thing. There ARE still affordable machineguns out there.

Cheaper than dirt sells a crank that attatches to a 22 rifle.

Enlighten me Wingspan. I'm under the impression that full auto wepons are nearly $$$$impossible$$$$$$$ to get.

the GAT has the best reputation

mount yer AR on a pintle, slap on a beta cmag and spin that GAT

The ground squirrels will never know what happened

Never mind those fancy gadgets. Learn the bounce method for simulated full auto. Better yet, learn to place your shots with semi-auto. After all, only hits count. (OK, full auto is lotsa fun too).

$$$$impossible$$$$$$$ to get? Hardly.

Yes, if your heart is set on a MP5 or an M-16 you'd better take out a second mortgage. There are still other more affordable guns out there. I filled my "need" with a M11/9. Including all taxes and transfer fee's, it cost me $1300 to enter the world of legal full-auto. No, Macs are not the most glamerous of machineguns. They are however, the most common. That means parts are readily available and there is a vast array of upgrades and accessories.

My M11 has been ultra reliable, and more fun than all my other guns combined. The only jams I've had were caused by 1 bad magazine.

I don't know what your budget is (nor is it my business) but in todays market $1K is not alot of money to pay for a firearm, much less a machinegun.

Hmm...I must have a full-auto trigger. All AK variants are capable of going quasi-full auto with the "bump method" that can be used from the shoulder...kind of. No need for the hell-fire!

I didn't realize you could get into ANYTHING full auto for only $1300! Hmmmm......time to start doing some serious research in my area. Is Ohio a machinegun state? I've read a little bit in the full auto forum.......but I'm really uneducated on this topic.

The GAT, while being a little gimmicky(like all of the trigger add-ons), works the best of them. I tried a Tac Trigger, a Tri Burst, the HellFire and the GAT was the only one that worked without breaking first use. In fact, after two years of sporadic use, my GAT is still going strong on one of my ARs.
Takes a little getting used to, but the advantage is that you get to keep very good control of your weapon with both hands.
The others use a method whereby you have to hold the weapon loosely, and let the recoil action "rock" the weapon against you finger. Thus, the videos often show firing from the hip. This is almost impossible for most people to grasp how to do, never mind to do it! It also gives you the sensation of being out of control of your weapon, and it almost impossible to aim anything when it rocks!
The GAT provides the firer with a better sight picture (read=more stable) due to the fact that you hold the weapon in a more natural firing position and it flat out works for anyone who can figure out how to hold the weapon and spin the dial with the trigger finger. (If you can pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time, you can use a GAT!)

Glad to hear that those devices are junk I could never get mine to work very well on my Ruger No 1. :)

Would it be legal to convert a 14.4volt cordless drill to turn inside triger guard with some type of "finger" on end of drill?

Using a drill motor to turn a trigger crank would be illegal. You can use a hand crank, but not an eletric powered one.

I think Ohio is FA legal, but I'm not sure. You might want to check out Http://www.subguns.com. That is one of the main sources of Class 3 info on the web. If you post your questions over there, much more knowedgeble people than I can answer your questions.

nedfig- I belive everyone here is talking about legal machineguns and trigger devices. Unless you are a Class 2 manufacturer, you cannot legally build a Sten for $130. Last I checked, legal Stens were going for around $2K.
