Trail/hiking handgun

I carry what I can hit with. Normally, it is my 1911 or my DW 357 with the 4 inch barrell.

I did see a 22 revolver the other day. what impressed me was it had a spare cylinder in 22mag. I am going to take some time to consider it.

When fishing I carry a 45lc/410 single shot derringer. Loaded with #8 shot it will take out a snake with out damaging the bottom of an alluminum boat.
 
I'd just get a decent belt holster for the GP100, a couple-a-three speed loaders and belt pouches and spend the rest on .357 Mag ammo. You've got the perfect trail gun already.
