Traffic stop with legal weapons in the car.

chances are my weapons will be seen in the backseat of my van as the officer approaches. they may or may not be in rifle cases, depending on how many rifles i was at the range with and how many trips i felt like making from the car to the range.

i think that their reaction would be less interesting than drive-through clerks who on occasion get to see my ninja-ed AR resting on the backseat.
:D

If I had to roll up on a stop, I'd appreciate knowing if you had a piece within reach. If it's packed up, out of sight in the back, I don't really care and I probably wouldn't know. But if it's a place I could see it, and you didn't tell me, it would raise red flags. But also, if I can tell that the hands are always on the steering wheel, I'm not too likely to get jumpy at all.

I'd like to know if someone has a CCW and a weapon, and I'd be pretty cool about it under most circumstances I can come up with for a traffic stop. There are probably some officers who would freak out (just because they are a part of the population too.) These officers are probably the ones who only shoot for qualifications too, if I had to guess.
