Tracking Stories of Self Defense - GunsSaveLives.net

The map that shows the incidents nationwide is very cool.
Thanks, if you like cool categorization features you can now search the stories by type of gun used.

Thanks for posting these.

No problem ;)

Here are a few of the most interesting recent stories:
10 year old WA Boy Shoots Attacker w/ BB Gun, Saves Mother
CO Homeowner Shoots, Kills, 1 of 3 Early Morning Home Invaders
OR Bar Employee Shoots Robber Armed with Sawed Off Rifle
PA Man Kills Thanksgiving Intruder with a Single Gunshot

Well after reading over 275 of these stories in about 2.5 months I'm starting to see some trends and I'm putting those together in the form of an article.

1. Guns are an amazing force equalizer.
What does this mean? It means that guns are an amazing tool that allows a 5′ tall, 90lb person to respond with the force needed to fight off multiple 6′ 3″, 250lb men.

I run across numerous stories of the elderly, petite women, and children using firearms to fight off groups of grown men. Without guns would they have even had a chance? Would a child be able to wield pepper spray or a stun gun with the same ease as a firearm and get the same results?

Hi All,

Just wanted to drop in a give a few updates on the GunsSaveLives.net project.

- We're getting close to clearing 400 stories of self defense
- We are in the process of categorizing every story by state, weapons used and victim demographics and we're hoping to use this information to build a more robust advanced search feature.
- We've changed the site layout to be a little more user friendly
- We're adding between 1-3 new stories per day

So if you have any stories you want to submit or any feedback please feel free to share it with us!
