Too many Hobbies... how do you balance ( long term )

Always been into guns. I've been collecting them for over 25 years. The other interests have varied. I was into Jeeps big time for awhile. On one I had more money into the upgrades than I spent on the vehicle brand new.

I then got into ATV's. I've had probably 10-12 of them. At one point I had 5 ATV's and a Rhino at the same time.

Also had several motorcycles with the most being 3 at one time.

My current bug is collecting Jack Daniels bottles. I am getting close to 150 different bottles. All are still sealed and full. Some date back to the 70's.

Only thing that has allowed me to do this is an understanding wife and not ever having any kids. I find that I will spend about a year or so focused on one thing and then go back to something else. My JD collection has been my primary focus for about a year now and I haven't bought anything new firearm related other than ammo during that time. I will probably stay with just the firearms and JD from this point and let the other stuff drop away.

Interestingly, I find keeping friends to be more challenging than keeping hobbies.

I don't mean to imply that I'm some sort of misanthrope, but hobbies can be shoved into the closet for a few months or years and picked up at leisure. Finding time to hang out with friends (particularly when you need to coordinate work schedules) is a nightmare.

After work and family, I figure I have time for about 2-3 "good" friends that I see a couple of times a month and maybe a half dozen "casual friends" that I try to catch up with a few times a year.

I collect guns, partner in a BMW M3 drifter, fish, drink and don't have a problem balancing it all, when there is no money left I watch TV until I get my next check.:D

MAN! You have issue's.

At least you have a gun to take care of your problem's, there nothing like going to the range and blowing of steam.:D
