They sell for a premium price when they pop up on gunbroker.com. Of course these are single item pistols and in no way reflects on Berettas past sales when they were in production. Still with all the cracked frames on their other versions I would think it would be better for Beretta to sell a version that as far as I know thru the internet doesn't crack versus replacing guns under warranty and the dissatisfied customers you create.
Cost would be my guess on the Ti Tomcats. As for ammunition I use in my guns, I shoot mostly Federal's or Fiocchi and have shot some S&B ammo, it is a bit hot. Federals run at 840 with 71 grain and the Fiocchi ammo runs 836 with 73 grain. S&B or Herter's run 918. Winchester & PPU are slow in the 775 range and Remington's are about 810.
