Woo! thanks for the help guys, i got the 3rd coat on today and its looking alot better so far compared to my first attempt. its even and smooth looking and also after i re-sanded and stained it, the bottom of the stock ended up darker than the top giving it a cool looking flow to it. After i get the preferred amount of coats on and dried fully, ill post a pick.

One thing I forgot to add and I understand that you are past this. As far as an applicator, I use a small piece of cheese cloth and fold it in a way that there are no edges showing and clamp it with one of those large paper clips. The application area is approx. 1" x 3/4". This allows for a more controlled area as it allows you to just swipe past any sharp corners rather than roll over them. You just throw each pad away, after each use. .....
