To All Those Who Say That They Will Never Buy Another S&W

I dont see any reason to support people who stab me in the back just to make a possible profit. S&W decided to only look after itself and F**k everybody else. So let them die for all I care. There are a number of other manifacturers out there who make good products and dont stab you in the back. If we do not boycot S&W other gun makers could see this as a sign that we dont really care what they do. We need to show anybody out there that they can not survive on gov. contracts alone and that if the cross us they will surely go out of business.

Having just read the agreement at Neal Knox's website, I can no longer support S&W. As long as they honor that "deal," they are dead to me.

I will never buy any new product from SLICK & WESSON.

BOYCOTT SLICK & WESSON

FUD S $ W MUst be Put down quickly or else we will all suffer they just aint on the team, The Guns will be sold but glock,browning,jennings,beretta..... their market share will default to those who dont sell us out, plus this will cause a delaying tactic that will pay a large dividend in November, me i had just had ordered a model 51 (now canciled). If they can reverse position i will reinstate the order as with K-mat I boycotted then till they dumped the sweat hog and the went down and bought a model 60 marlin the boycott dosent have to be for ever just untill the lawyers help them wiggle out.

It breaks my heart but I just sold my model 60 that was given to me as a high school graduation present by my uncle who taught me to shoot at the age of six. I was once told that honesty is know right from wrong but integrity is being willing to do what's right, regardless of how much personal pain it causes. Seemed like my integrity was worth more than a sentimental gift but it still hurt to do it.

FUD, the whole point is to lash out out severely at the present traitor, S&W, in order to convince others to AVOID the compact. The idea is to CHANGE other corps behavior, not accept what you apparently believe is the inevitable. I have thought about your point of view at length and was leaning that way myself, but have concluded it is flawed. S&W must be boycotted absolutely, in order to try to stem the tide. It already appears that Glock and others are intently watching what is happening to S&W, and may be leaning against settlement as a result. S&W made a deal with the devil in my book, and they can go to hell.

One can not judge the quality or integrity and ethics of a corporation by the actions of it's leader. What about the thousands of men & women who work hard everyday building a gun that use can use to save your life or that of a loved one. Do they deserve to lose their jobs because we are boycotting their company for it's actions when they had nothing to do with it? Maybe they do. Maybe they are the innocent casulities of war. But what happens if the shoe was on the other foot and you were in danger, through no fault of your own, of losing your job. Think of the hardships your family would suffer if you didn't bring home a paycheck for several months. How would you feel if you had to take a lower paying job and the standard of living your family was use to was lowered by several notches.

I don't like what S&W did! I think that the firearms industry should stick together but if they go under because of us boycotting their products, the top people who were responsible for this decision will be hurt a lot less than the thousands of good workers who had nothing to do with it.

Called S&W to inform them that as an owner of 3 S&W Revolvers I would NOT be buying from S&W (no guns,no shirts,no screw drivers etc..) unitl Thompkins PLC has sold them to an AMERICAN company and their agreement is voided.

I already dont buy colts but then angin has colt made anthing worth buying in 15years.

So we are left with

Glock, SIG,Barreta,Ruger,Browning,Tuarus,Rossi
Spring Field,Auto Ordance,Kimber,Freedom Arms,etc etc etc

The local gun dealer just told me today that she "yep she" was not going to sell any more S&W guns because of this deal. If she was going to sell S&W guns they would have to stop selling "the Black guns and Hicap Mags" which is a lot more of their business than the S&W guns. They were even preparing to send all their new S&W products back as a protest. They had no desire to sell them now. I think that S&W has made a mistake and I intend to boycot them. I heard that Glock and Browning both told the guberment where to stick their proposals. I intended to support the companies who didn't sell out over those that do. Tompkins PLC better get that company sold soon as I bet in a year they are broke and not worth a penny.

After all these years...Browning!
I am in the market for a BAR Safari and BPR.
a Highpower in 9mm will joing my collection shortly there after.
Go to the Browning web page and check out their product lists.

Shin-Tao: Browning, YES! Nice web page too.
and a link to their business partner WINCHESTER. Just maybe there will be something left to the gun industry after all.

FUD: What about S&W's employees? Simple: They're employees, not slaves; They can go find jobs someplace else, if S&W goes under. It's not like we're in the middle of a depression, you know!

Who knows, some of them might even strike out on their own, and start their own gun company.

We're about to pass legislation so that retired people can work and not be penalized.

Why?

Because there is so much demand for labor that we cannot keep up.

S$W's employee's can and will get better paying jobs elsewhere.

SCREW S$W

It's my understanding that Browning has discontinued their production of handguns.

Good post FUD, good turn around too, your letter was good.

I am not buying S&W, they can get there own ass out of this jam. Now if they would have said we want to fight this thing but we could go under, buy a gun! Ok, now its time to anti-up, but nope, they decided not to fight for their rights! I decied not to support them. We all make choices!

Refusing to buy a SW product is not near enough in my opinion. I will not do business with any dealer who carries any SW products and I will make sure they know why I am not doing business with them.

The Smith & Wesson Sellout - The Rest Of The Story
From NewsHawk Inc. <hawknews@saber.net>

Many thanks to respondent Bruce Chesley for sending us this VERY important information on what lay behind the decision of Smith & Wesson to cave in to New World Order victim disarmament forces like the Clintonoids.

Turns out not ONE of the pro-gun rights and pro-2nd Amendment organizations contacted by S&W for assistance in their legal battle against victim disarmament forces would lift a finger or contribute a penny to help Smith & Wesson. According to S&W spokespersons, they ALL advised S&W to "settle" with the feds.

And there's more.

The Rest of the Story - Smith and Wesson From Bruce Chesley <excalibur25@juno.com 2-23-00

Like I've said before. Its all about egos, influence, MONEY, power and sex.

Truth is a terrible cross to bear.

"Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered." Thomas Paine

NRA = Nazi Rifle Assoc. Treason for $$$

--------- Begin forwarded message ----------

Yesterday, March 22, 2000, Roger Fredinburg, anchor host of Talk Radio Network, made a personal phone call to the top honchos at Smith and Wesson. He asked them why they had decided to buckle under to the government.

He was told that Smith and Wesson had called every one of the large second amendment groups, NRA, GOA, JPFO, and dozens of others that Roger had never even heard of. Smith and Wesson begged these organizations for help in funding in defending Smith and Wesson against the government pushed lawsuits against gun manufacturers.

Every one of the second amendment organizations they called told Smith and Wesson to make the deal with the feds. The second amendment organizations, even those with their 6 figure salaries, told Smith and Wesson that they'd rather work towards legislation than help in any gun manufacturers with the lawsuits.

Conclusions: What good are the second amendment organizations if they won't fight for gun manufacturers. And to top it off, after they've told Smith and Wesson they won't help them even if it meant Smith and Wesson going out of business, they put out an alert to their funders and tell them to ban buying Smith and Wessons.

Do you hear the truth from the left or the right? No! Do the second amendment organizations do anything but collect money so they can stay and play with the big mucky muck politicians in Washington and live like kings and play lobbyists?

You answer that question.[/quote]
