To all LEO

Some of you guys make me laugh. Before I forget, Gunfighter--When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.---- Not true ! well maybe it is , that is once law abiding people will now be outlaws,, Oh I see thats right. It's true..

Now one big thank you to all who have come foward. I visit this board because I know there are a lot of LEO's here. I pay special attention to what you guys say..

As for me? I'm just an engineer who works in the media,, OOP's gotta duck now !!

No need to duck for cover Tommy Gun....that is unless you really do have nefarious intents of trying to take something that someone here says out of context. ;) The fact is I wish we had more media types here at TFL. If we did perhaps we would get better (more accurate/less biased/fair) treatment from them.
I've never had a problem with telling anyone here or any where my occupation. Frankly I'm proud of it and feel that I was a credit to the profession until my retirement.

was a PD officer in KS. Now I'm a Safety officer at an airport. I do PD,Fire, and EMS. Went from the frying pan into the fire.

Best wishes Best luck and take a kid shooting. Poacher.

Hay Gunslinger, Thank you but by no means am I a media type. I just an broadcast engineeer who happens to work in the news biz. I am in no way part of the editoral side of the media. Nor would I want to be ! These people live in some other world, get my drift...

However I agree with you. But I see it from the inside. How the missinformation and disinformation ends up on your tv. I've seen network reporters do a story when they were told there info was incorrect ! but they did it anyway !!

Sorry I have no respect..

Now, want to know how I really feel..

I just received this from a friend of mine who is a very pro 2a/constition retired LA County Sheriff Detective. Thought I would pass it on here:

TX CCW Holders - Hidden Threat to Law Enforcement
This is an example of HCI trying to turn LE against the CCW,
particularly in Texas, for some strange reason, maybe politics? It's
not gonna work..at least it won't fool the cops it's aimed at. Feds
not included as mileage may vary. We know better, 142 out of
214,000? The Clergy isn't batting that well. Neither are cops. Don't
be fooled by this crap. We can expect to see more as truth is
irrelevant. Gun Control has become a religion like the environment
has for the Religious Left.

Ah, no. A 'direct threat' would automatically be filed as an Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer. So, I think we can safely say the only 'direct threats' were the 12 Agg Assaults -- and I'm here to tell you that 12 Aggravated Assaults in a 52 month period across the entire State of Texas is a darn sight better than the statistical norm.

Plus, I would like HCI to reveal whether these 142 'threats' are based on convictions or charges. Furthermore, I'd like to know how many of these 142 'threats' actually involved the physical presence of a handgun.

Mighty big coinkydink that HCI is targeting the home state of the only guy with a chance to beat Al Gore. Mud gets thrown, but Good Ol' Al keeps his hands clean.

I don't know of any "direct threats" from CCH holders at all. I've seen plenty from non-CCH holders, more commonly called "Criminals". We currently have some a##hole with a weapon raping women on the hike and bike trail. Gunslinger, did I read you're a bike officer too?

Nope, never a bike officer. Just uniformed patrol and later covert narcotics.

Gunslinger, how many narcotics did you convert? :D

I'll bet he converted a few of them.

You have to be there when it's all over. Otherwise you can't say "I told you so."
