Time to replace my g19

My g19 undercut on the trigger guard likes to ride my finger to the point it kinda hurts. I know ppl have customized them but the idea of taking a dremel to my pistol . I rented a xd9m compact and I shot quite well with it, It was almost to the point where you said to yourself I did that??? I do have a ruger and a xd40 they both feel fine. I thought about a gen4 19 but the xdm she is calling my name.

I vote yes... These are all easily traded and retain value... You can always go back or try something else... or something else... It's all part of the fun.

Before you give up on the Glocks, you may want to try a 17 as well. The grip isnt cramped like the 19's, which is my biggest complaint about them. The 17 really isnt that much bigger, and doesnt give anything up.

Then again, if the XDM is calling your name......:D

I like CWKahrFan idea that is part of the fun. Also I think the xdm will fit in my xd holster till I find one that is better.

The actual type of gun is actually low on the scale of must haves for defense.

Same for ammo. Even RNL or FMJ can do the deed.

Find a good reliable gun you like and shoot well with it.

Be it a Glock, Colt, Smith, Ruger, HK, Walther, etc...

Be it a Semi-Auto or revolver. Be it a SA, DA, SA/DA, or 'safe action'.

Heck it can be a Colt SAA made 100 years ago if you are GOOD WITH IT.

Even a lowly Kel-Tec will do.

So if the Glock hurts, find something else and practice as much as you can.

Take a serious look at the PPQ like another poster indicated. Very comfortable, nice size that can conceal like a G19, and great trigger. I shoot it more accurately than many of my other 9's.

Even as a XD lover, I have to give props to the PPQ. It looks (at least to me) kinda goofy, but it sure sits sweetly in the hand. Shoots VERY nice, as well. So add another vote for giving it a test drive.

I'll also say the Walther PPQ or Steyr M9-A1. Both are similar in size to the 19 with full length grips that don't cramp my hands. In addition to their great ergo's they have very good triggers as well.

I shot the PPQ yesterday and it is a nice pistol. I now have to go back and rent the xdm and the ppq and shoot them side by side lol. They both feel great in my hand time to see which one I shoot the best with.

You won't go wrong with either; it's really just a matter of personal preference at this point. Good luck and happy shooting!

The Beretta 92 just doesn't feel right in my hand. I went to the range again rented then XDM and the Walthers PPQ again. I shot about 75 rounds threw both. They both feel great. I showed my brother the targets and he asked if I just used one pistol because the shots looked the same.

Saying Glocks are total crap doesn't
say much for ones experience with firearms.
That being said,I've owned and shot at one time
or another pretty much all 9mm and 45acp Glocks.
They're very easy to customize if chosen to do so.
I can modify with aftermarket parts a great trigger.
Super easy to disassemble.
The only bone I have about them and others of their
design is no safety. I would never carry a Glock with
a round in the chamber. I like manual safeties.
I currently carry a Shield ,as I said with no round
in the chamber. I'm a south paw and unless there is
a safety on my side of the weapon..to me it's just for the range.
Including the 1911's.
I've been on this earth a long time and I don't want some article of clothing
discharging a bullet into my leg.

I am having a little trouble finding a straight answer on the PPQ what is the warranty on a walther ppq. Alot of threads here are a few years old. Looks like it is only 1 year guess I rule that one out. I did like the trigger pull

Like Uncle Malice said, it was obviously sarcasm. If Sharkbite's joke about the Glock being crap so he'd buy it from the OP for super-cheap didn't make it obvious, the winking smiley face should have given it away ;).
