As noted, only the P99 AS model that is a true DA/SA striker-fired version. Other P99 models are either DAO, or Quick Action -- which is more like the Glock/XD where the slide partially or fully charges the striker spring. [I don't have access to any technical info that explains how the Walther Quick Action (QA) mechanism.] I think the QA version was discontinued.
The AS version is a clever design -- but I've never been able to get my hands on one locally to see how they feel. If you move the slide .4", the striker is charged.
