Thoughts on Taurus Millennium pro 9mm

I did have a 3rd generation PT145 for a while. The slide was loose and rattly, but it was surprisingly accurate and reliable. I never had any feeding or ejection problems.

I did, however, have one major problem. A very small part in the FCG broke (a small link, about 1/4" long)....and the gun went full auto. Subsequent investigation revealed that the Mill Pro series guns had originally been designed as DAO. For the third generation, Taurus added an auxiliary sear assembly, converting the pistol to SA/DA operation. The part that broke was part of this added sear assembly. I removed the add-on sear assembly, thus converting the pistol back to DAO operation. After that, IMO, it was a much better pistol anyway. Reliability continued as before.

I sold the PT145 a short while later.

A 7.5-year-old blast from the past. I had forgotten that former member Qwiks Draw used to post these walls of copied-and-pasted text in defense of Taurus.

once Christmas is done, I am getting the millennium g2, I freaking love that gun and cant believe how cheap it is. go to any gun sales sight and they almost all have 5 star reviews even with hundreds of sales. I shot one about six months ago, and although the trigger is not quite as good as the shields, everything else is the same and the ergos are slightly better, especially the palm area. sounds like a great gun with an amazing price. the large big box gun store says he sells a lot of them and only had one come back. he also aid that he gets shields come back all the time, but surely he sells 3x as many shields so I am sure that is relative.

I am one of very few Taurus lovers, so take my opinion with a grain

I had a gen3 mil pro PT145 that was a hunk of junk. I tried everything but sending it back...basically gave it away at a gun show to some guy on the sidewalk.

Hopefully I'll never own another Taurus auto. I do wish you good luck on yours, the new ones look good and feel great in the hand.

My 3rd gen pt145 was perfect for the 5 years I owned, shot, and carried it. Never one malfunction of any kind. Fed everything... ramp was factory polished, and was a good lookin gun. Sold it cuz I needed cash at the time... wish I still had it

I had the 3 gen PT140, great little gun perfect for carry even though it shot a little low, but that could have been fixed. Sold mine off (I regret that) needed the cash at the time. I was also swearing off the 40 S&W at the time (do not like it in a pistol) much prefer the 45 ACP. But I am back to the 40 S&W again, but in a rifle and I love that round in a rifle.

That reminds me I need to get to the range once the holidays are over and sight in my scope on that.

Had a PT 24/7 Pro-C compact, gave it to my Wifey.
She loved it, recently traded it in on exactly the same thing except in Pink...
found it in a pawn shop...

Likes: the 17 rd mag, compact little carry pistol in 9mm, ribber grip made it easier for her to handle.
Dislikes: 13 rd mag sucked...sent it back and Taurus sent a new 17 in its place.

Other than that, use quality ammo or quality handloads.
It loves Ball & JHP's.

The first generation PT111 had problems according to Youtube videos I have seen. I have looked for problem videos of the PT111 Gen2, but couldn't find any.
I bought a Gen2, but have not yet shot it. Maybe someday soon. Chores have been getting in my way.

BTW, a friend has a PT145 which is no longer imported. He says it has never malfunctioned. Beware of Taurus bashers. I once had a Beretta Nano. I sold it just as soon as it came back from warranty work. So every manufacturer can have a dud.

I had a PT145 Mil Pro for a few years and loved it. It was super reliable, never had any failures with it and was reasonably accurate for it's intended purpose as well. I got it to carry and found it a bit on the heavy side with 11 230gr .45's racked up in it. I sold it to a buddy a couple years ago and he shoots it regularly and loves it too. I wanted something smaller and lighter, ended up with a Kahr CM9 and REALLY love that.

No complaints here, I still own a couple guns from Taurus and they have all been trouble free for me!!

I too bought a gen2. Enjoying it on my first 50 rounds. Nice 5.5# trigger, light, great for medium/cadet hands, nice capacity for size, short reset. I'm a beginner shooter so won't comment on accuracy nor have comparisons from shooting standpoint.

Can't speak for anyone else's experiences, but my Mil Pro 145 has been a flawless performer. Can't really ask for much more.

A 7 year old thread brought back to life! LOL!

Taurus has the new G2 series and they are big hit with the Taurus fans. The milpro series has evolved over the years.
