Thought Chamfers lasted forever

Nice unit , one day I'll get one . Who said they reload to save money , shoot more and rolling your own is what it's all about . Be Well.

RCBS carbide cutters in their case center make chamfering easy, if not already using a 3-way cutter of some sort. Yes handheld cutters wear out way faster than you think they should

Redding 45 acp comp seater is not as precise as their comp bullet seaters, and does not function the same (way more variation ion pistol bullet dia?), but significantly better than a regular seating die. Especially at keeping out side bulges.

It works for my needs . I considered getting the bigger units but my process didn't warrant spending that much money . When looking up the Hornady Trio for the link provided . I was surprised at the price . I did not pay the much for sure . I want to say just under $90 or so which was much less then the $200+ larger units . It seemed to be the right compromise and so far it has been .

The two cons I have with the unit is one of the arms is out of round and the other is that it turns slower then I'd like . If the tool spun faster I could do more per minute . I've not timed it but would think It's not any faster then doing it by hand , just less stress on the hands when doing hundreds of cases .

I ordered the Hornady sleeved seating die and the Lyman M sizing die . Should remove the bulge problem I was getting once an awhile . Thanks for your input.

I've had the same tool since about 1970, still works fine. I've even chucked it in my drill and removed primer pocket crimps, still going strong.

I do have the RCBS VLD and a Sinclair inside chamfer also the Sinclair is more like a very sharp pointed cone . I start with a few turns with the VLD , finish it off with the standard chamfer inside an out , it seems to smooth more the shave , that's why I ordered a new one .
