This has literally nothing to do with Christianity and if you'd read the Wikipedia link I gave you'd see just how true that is. Freddy himself doesn't seem to have any religious belief anymore. Trying to link these freaks to any real aspect of Christianity as examples of why we should not "generalize" about the literal application of the Koran is at the very least dishonest.

Dishonest how? Because this guy is no less Christian than Osama is Muslim. Again, different interpretation. Just because other christians have taken the politically correct route and denounced his beliefs doesn't mean it's not part of the religion.
 
While I can show you where Osama is following the actual fundamental beliefs espoused by the Koran I do not believe you can, and challenge you to try, to show me where Phelps is following anything Christian. And before you start, I'll save you a bit of effort: Christianity condemns homosexuality. The Bible says Salvation is through Christ. He's the only way. That's it. The end. You've just been given all the data I have a responsibility to give you. God doesn't tell me to picket your funeral or embezel candy companies or get addicted to methamphetamines or force you to believe lest I kill you and all the infidels like you.

I denounce his "beliefs" because they are wrong-headed, hypocritical, anti-Christian and just plain friggin' stupid. I couldn't possibly care less about what is or is not PC. I say your statement was dishonest because you either don't know your subject matter or you have an agenda and don't care about the subject matter.

2nd: I guess you didn't grow up under the same flavor of christianity that I did. Old country roman catholics see things with a different perspective than the politically correct fat free god of the west. I grew up reading the same bible that you did, I just paid more attention to the juicier bits than most.

The Old Testament

The Old Testament of the Christian Bible does make reference to homosexuality as an 'abomination' before God and required the public execution of involved parties.
What these people have done however is to take a text written as part of the governing laws of a Theocracy and apply it as indication that God is punishing America because we tolerate homosexuality. America is NOT a theocracy, we are a democratic republic. We do not follow the same theocratic rule of law as the ancient Hebrews. Christians are bound by only ten laws (one of which is thou shall not murder) and the 'New Commandment' as given by Jesus Christ Himself.

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:30,31

These people are clearly NOT Christians. They are traitors and should be treated as such.

When a five year old loses an arguement with mom or dad they get very upset. Simply beause they don't have the logic and knowlege developed yet, thats needed for reason or a good rebuttle. So they throw a fit.

This is what these idiot's are doing,( and at peoples funerals even!) Just look at their obsurd behavior.

But where five year olds excel past these monkeys, is their ability to get over it and move forward.

+1! I am also Christian and anyone who compares these idiots to Christians is about as crazy as they are anyways. I can only hope that they tick the wrong crowd off and get what is surely coming to them. However, as they justify all of this by God, dying will only be the beginning of their worries.

I am a Christian. I leave it to Gods judgement to decide if these people are followers of Jesus or not. I have my own opinion.

They promote controversy, rather than Gods work.

I have as much in common with these people as I do the Taliban.
