Here is a picture of my Henry Big Boy 38/.357 Like I said ( Here is a picture of my Henry Big Boy, there are several Henry's out there but this one I made Mine.
I would like to thank some one on the internet. I do not remember where I saw one like this one but it was on a Forum some where like this one. I originally bought a Skinner Brass front sight but after seeing a Lyman front sight on one I really liked the way it looked and I also enjoy a Globed front sight. This sight works really well with the Skinner rear Receiver sight. I think it is just plain sexy and Gorgeous. I have not shot this combination as of yet just a little to cold here in Kentucky right now to even stay out long enough to get a good and not hurried sight in. I have no doubt that the front and rear sight will work together because the poster mention the same combo with the height of the front sight the same. I really like the way the rear and globe sight work together with a round outlined circle in the front globe.
I wish I had a battery in my better camera but I did not so I used my cheaper camera.

I just got back from the range with the Big Boy and it did not take long to sight it in at 25 yards. With the .584 front sight it was dead on as far as elevation with the rear peep all the way down. I just had to tap the front sight towards the right just a hair to bring POA back to the left just a hair. My last three shots were dead center Bullseye with two of the rounds almost cutting the same hole. I only fired 11 rounds of .38 only the .357 will be a little higher on the target but I enjoy shooting the .38's at close range and they are easier to find right now also cheaper.

I am a very happy Henry owner. :bthumb:

Glad you like it!

I have one in .357 and another in .44. Someday would like to have one in .45 colt to complete the hat trick.

The heavy barrel makes swinging and aiming a breeze. Its great fun to throw one of those orange self healing blocks or balls out on the range, and chase it downrange with shot after shot. Try it, I guarantee you will have fun!

There is still time. They are still in production. Think my next one will be a Golden Boy .22mag. I had a .22lr version and it was a very fun gun to shoot. I just never owned a .22mag.

Nice. What is the barrel length on that one?

I have a 45 long colt version from my Dad when he was Cowboy Shooting. Nice heavy barrel but is pretty long. Shoots right on.

Nice gun. Will always be in my family.

Awesome gun, still made in America by the same company that made them in the civil war, can't beat that! I'd take a Henery over a Marlin any day.

you all can have mine, the new henry rifles are not even remontly related to the civil war rifles. the new henry owners are not related to the original henry rifle makers. they use a play on words to make you think they are. eastbank.

Awesome gun, still made in America by the same company that made them in the civil war,

Sorry, they are not the same company.

I'd take an older marlin 1894 over henry any day of the week, not bashing henrys as I own two myself, but they are not as well made as older marlins

Heres my thought on the Henry brand: they may not be as nice as the older Marlins but when I can buy 2 Henry .22lr's for the price of 1 Marlin 39a........simple math here. Do they function reliably? Yea. Are they accurate? Sure. Are they both still the original companies? HA! NO! But think about this, I've heard wwwwaaaaaayyyyy more issues with a newer Marlin than a Henry.

i bought a 39 mountie in 1963 and have use it and a younger brother also use it for all those years, shooting many thousands of rounds with out a hicup. and i was offered 400.00 for it, its still here.. in 52 years tell me about your henry. with all the good used marlin and winchester lever action .22 rifles out there i see no reason to buy a henry. the reason you need to buy two henrys is to crap on one and cover it up with the other one, just kidding. eastbank.

I got to play with a Henry Original at Cabela's today.

Boy, it was nice, but honestly there were some gaps in the metal to wood fit on the gun. I'd expect much better for the $1,999 Cabelas was wanting for the piece. Also the ladder sight seemed a bit roughly made, it wasn't blued nearly as nice as the barrel and just felt sort of loose and cheap. Maybe it's supposed to feel that way?
