Thinking of buying a Beretta 84

I haven't seriously considered buying a Cheetah to date but I own .380s and I am curious as the length of trigger pull. Is it as long as the Beretta 92? I ask because I have always found that trigger pull a little too long for my hands.

Thanks and sorry for the small detour.

I have a 92FS and an 85FS. The 85 is a smaller gun with smaller grip. The trigger pull also seems a bit shorter. It is just smaller overall, so it shouldn't be an issue.

IMHO the 84 series trigger pull is not as long as the 92 in terms of physical reach but has a very similar geometry. The feel in the hand for me is very similar to the 92 series guns. They feel like a mini 92.

If you go with CDI KyJim you can pick it up directly and save the shipping and transfer!

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how this huge batch of 84's got to market? It looks like some are fairly old ones too, but I don't see the info that auctions often have such as "we've got a batch of _______ from _______ formerly of the _____service."

A surplus lot from overseas?

Israeli surplus via Cole Distribution in KY. Exactly who used them is not known but most believe them to be Israel Defense Forces guns.

Interesting. I'm not planning on picking up another (though the nickel is nice...) but it's always nice to know what you can about the history of a given gun.

Coles is a great source for surplus guns. BHPs, Berettas & CZs to name a few. The nice thing about his guns is that they are imported surplus but do not have a big ugly surplus rollmark etched on them like most do.

He hides the mark! There is much speculation how he does it. Many cannot find the mark even when he tells you where it is.

Interesting. I wish those gun rapists at PW Arms would try doing what he's doing.

My 80 series Beretta's

I have a few Cheetah models. The Nickel plated 85 is new and part ot the new program at BUSA to import these fine pistols. A little pricey, but well worth it.

I got it today, went straight to the range a put 50 rounds through it. Shot great! Zero recoil IMO I was under the impression that this was a blow back gun, but obviously its not. :)

The slide didn't lock back on the last round. But it does when I rack it by hand, minor thing. I have some new mags ordered see if that fixes the problem. The description said the finish was 90% plus. I have to agree with that, very happy with the condition. When it decocks it goes into half cock position so the first DA pull isn't even a full DA pull is that normal?

Some pics

This was my first mag out of it, didn't seem to bad.

I quickly field stripped it and hit it was some CLP, it didn't really need it though.
