Thinking of Beretta 92 FS

Is the thingy under the slide :D they're referring to the contour of the frame forward of the trigger guard. Current 92fs have a slanted or tapered contour while M9 has a straight ie parallel to slide contour

Everyone should have a 92 in their possesion. Mine is all original parts with somewhere around 5500 rounds since 2010. Has never had a problem feeding any and all types of 9mm from lead nose, steel case, to Jhp. Mine is an italian.

what really makes me mad, a flood of Italian trade ins 92s models came to the US to be had for at times as little as $270 but due to the thrice dammed laws in CA could not get one here

Despite being a hardcore fan of the 1911 and 45acp, I say go get it. I've come around in my old age and have accepted that the Beretta 92 is one of the best guns ever made. I qual'd Expert 4 times during my stint in the USMC. Two of those times were with the Beretta 92.

The only thing I don't like about it is the heavy, long DA trigger pull. It's easy enough to get used too, but fortunately, it is EASILY remedied by simply swapping the mainspring with the lighter one used by the Brigidier model of the same gun. Do a Google search for Beretta "D" mod if you want further details.

Other than that, the gun is absolutely reliable, has a very slick action, and more accurate than most can shoot. Mine sits proudly next to my 1911s.
