Thinking about getting a Birds Head Vaquero...What do you guys think?

Should be in Guns Of The Old West, if the river don't rise between now & then.
Don't know what issue, the earliest would be about three months, the current one is just out & the mag only comes out quarterly. I don't think they've started to assemble the next issue yet. It was a joint piece with the little Ruger. Enjoyed it.

P.S. Hope you've learned your lesson- Never let your mother shoot a gun you like.

I love the little .32 and have since it was first introduced in the mid 80's. My recent midway catalog shows Black Hills .32 mag 90 grain lead FP ammo at $13.99 for a box of 50. More expensive than cheap .38s but I like the cartridge and reaload so it's cheaper yet. I have the Baby vaq bird's head in .32, a Smith kit gun 4" barrel in .32 and snubbie Chiefs special in .32 and all are great guns. When I find the regualr grip baby vaq in .32 stainless i will get that too. The cartridge is what it is- fun. It could be a good defensive round loaded with the Hornady 85 grain hollow point. I shoot 32 S&W and 32 S&W long and all three rounds seem to have "inherent accuracy" . John Taffin said it best when he called the little .32 kit guns ( which I consider the baby Vaqs also) as woods loafing guns. I carried my Smith kit gun a lot up in new England where bears were not a real issue but coy-dogs were. I shot 2 rabid raccoons on two seperate instances up there and the .32 did it's job well.
I still shoot lots of 45 Colt and 44 mag and 454 Casull but i love my little .32s also and consider it a great gun and a great round and lots of fun. I hope guys keep on buying and shooting this round as it is too good to die from neglect.

Here here! Although not exactly "new" any longer, having been born in the mid-80s, but still best little round to come along over the past many years. Deserves much better than it's received -- from industry and public alike (the latter group so often following the sales pitch of the former to begin with, we'll put much of the blame with the industry -- mags, ammo suppliers, gun manufacturers, the image creators, etc. Have never seen Ruger, for instance, really "push" its own .32 product(s), nor have Taurus and SW highlighted their DA offerings (but at least for the moment still offering the guns--give them that) They've just sorta appeared and "been there," under-fed and under-appreciated. And lotsa folk have continued to feed the world the poppy cock of the "comparisons" - saying "it ain't no .357" or "my .45 will beat the pants off it!"-- Well you numbskulls , of course not, whoever said...?! Let's see, the same crowd that's decried the M-1 Carbine, "ain't no Garand"!
