The worst handgun you own...

I've only had two worst handguns.
One is still being made and sold, so maybe it's been improved.
So, I won't mention it other than to say the company is in the sunny south and the name includes two continents.
The other worst handgun was actually a very good gun.
It was sold as either the Magnum Research Mountain Eagle or Ramline Syntek.
It was kind of goofy looking, but it worked well.
Or would have except some idjit or other decided to sabotage it with really lousy magazines.
Made of plain vanilla plastic they melted in the presence of anything stronger than water and the lips were so thin they broke right off.

a model 6 American Derringer....( chambered in .45 Colt / .410 shotshells)...all stainless with Antler grips....

http://www.amderringer.com/m68.html

my brother in law passed away ...and he willed this ugly useless little thing ..to me ....and I'm still laughing about it .... its a little over 8" long, it weighs about 22 oz ...and it has a trigger pull of about 15 lbs ..( like trying to squeeze the head off a chicken...) ...my word, its awful...

and he originally bought it for one of his 5 ex-wives...( # 3 I think ) ...and she didn't like it either....and he paid a little over $ 600 for it new ..( his original receipt was in the pouch it came with )....

An open-bolt single shot 22 short pistol. Bought it purely because I wanted to say I owned an open-bolt gun. I COULD rebuild it into something halfway decent if I had the inclination to do so.

An old break-top revolver that you couldn't pay me to shoot. Not even exactly sure what caliber it is

BUT it was given to me by my grandfather... so it's a 'wall hanger".

The British Bulldog

This was a pos a hundred years ago, and it's still hanging in there.
Hard to believe how many of these rusted away, or were melted for scrap, when they are so da_ned handy for smashing Brazil nuts. Never fired anything but those plastic shells from Speer. It still goes off when your booger hook hits the bang switch.

The worst gun I own is an old single action .22lr called the L.A. Deputy and made in W. Germany. Frame seems to be some sort of alloy and it shaves lead when fired. I had pretty much given up on the thing until I got the idea to try .22 shotshells in it which seem to function perfectly. Thus the useless thing now serves as my snake gun.

I have owned one bad gun and I got rid of it. The rest, they all shoot well and are reliable. Live is too short to hang onto guns that don't function correctly.

The Regent. It is an eight shot 22lr revolver. I don't even know if it will shoot. It was given to me. I took it to try to restore it for sentimental reasons. It belonged to my wife's grandpa (a really cool old guy who passed away a few years ago. Would post a pic but don't know how even if I had a camera.

My Sig Mosquito that I picked a couple of weeks ago. Even with running CCI MiniMags thru it, it is still a jam-o-matic.

RG .22 revolver snubnose. Goes bang sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. Looks like someone took a hammer to it in a fit of rage. Paid $25 for it on a lark. Threw it in the tackle box and forgot about it. Waiting for a police buy back so I can put that money toward another gun or some ammo.

I have to consider myself (objectively speaking I think) as not owning such (worst). So I will go with my 'least-expensive' gun which would be my Hi Point C9. Just to reiterate, it has never failed to perform and I got it OTD for $159 a few years back.

Worst I currently own is a Taurus PT1911. Broke the extractor in less than 300 rounds and the finish is crap. That said it has a great trigger and I shoot it very accurately. It's still a keeper.

I guess it would have to be a toss up between my Taurus TCP or Mosin Nagant. I know this is the handgun forum, but...

They are just so much fun to shoot, all of em, so I guess my worst would have to be one of my lower quality ones..

Still not planning on getting rid of either one anytime soon.

Worst presently owned gun is my Astra A-100. Not because there's anything wrong with it, it shoots great, it's just the cheapest gun I own right now.

never had anything i would consider “bad“, but the gun i liked the least was a Ruger P95. It had a lot of fte issues when i first got it. It has been the only gun i have ever had to return to be repaired. Ruger’s customer service is great BTW.

Got it back and it ran fine, but i just never warmed up to it. Too large and bulky for me. I traded it for a kel tec p11.

that is really the only gun i have owned that i did not “like“. it is a fine gun though just not for me

Intratec Tec-9M

Besides Federal Nyclad it doesn't feed hollowpoints.

It's also not safe to fire cartridges with a wall thickness of less than .027" it's a straight blowback and there's no support for the case walls.

The sights are basically strips of metal welded onto the receiver.

It cost $167.00 in 1987
