At academy sports the sales girl told me that every morning there are a group of 5 or 6 guys sitting in the parking lot at 5am waiting for the store to open so "they can buy 3 boxs of bullets".

I doubt they are reselling but I do not know for sure. Doesn't seem profitable to sit for 3 hrs a day for 3 boxs of ammo to me. What I don't understand is why they are there so early when those guys are the only ones waiting and they don't ever sell out till after lunch?
Maybe they enjoy talking to each other IDK and probably never will.

curious how long they will remain available?

Got email from SWFA today saying that they have ammo in stock around 11 a.m.

About 3 hours later, got email saying that they are running out because folks were placing orders for 50-100+ boxes since they didn't place ordering limits.

Just moved into our new home in a very gun friendly rural area NW of Detroit. While in the walmart 15mins away, buying small trash bags and hair spray for the wife, I took a chance and asked a worker when the ammo shipments come in. He said theyll bring it out around 10pm and it always comes on Thursday's truck. Considering it was Thursday and the time was 9:30 we decided to head to the sporting goods counter and wait. There were 3 people already waiting and within 30 minutes several more showed up. At around 10:15 they rolled out a cart loaded with cartons of ammo. 100 rd packs of winchester and federal champion in 9mm, .40, .45 as well as 50 rd packs. A couple different kinds of .223/5.56 and various other calibers. Too our surprise they had a couple cases of federal and winchester bulk packs of .22lr. The wife and I left with 4 boxes of 555 count .22lr($24 each) and 2 boxes of wwb 100rd 9mm($24 each). When everyone was done buying there were still quite a few boxes of everything but the .22s. At least now when we run low we know where/when to get some.

I was in another walmart nearby and asked them as well but got no information whatsoever. I guess it goes to show that luck plays into the equation these days. I was told by another shooter I met that a different walmart a bit further out sets their ammo out at 7am on Wednesday after it comes in on the Tuesday night truck. These walmarts are in fenton and white lake michigan in case anyone needs ammo.

Went to Academy Sports today. They had quite a few AR pattern 22s. Lots of handguns. If you wanted a 45 not a problem. Numerous Taurus of all types. Beretta Nanos and the little Sig. Ruger LC 380. Ruger LCRs in 22,22 mag and 357. Beretta 92s and a bunch of 22 1911 patterns.

Ammo - lots of 44, 38 - no 9mm, 45 or 22. Probably bought out by the morning stalker crowd.

There was also AR, Glock and other mags. If you bought them at high prices during the panic - well, that's life. Prices about 5 bucks higher than pre-panic.

My apologies to the forum and the mods,I missed this 'sticky' thread and posted a thread on this subject.duh.

Awful supply here in Northern Virginia of any handgun rounds new in stores.

People in Walmart are calling in to friends who are managers for when supplies arrive to get them as soon as they arrive.

I hope this stops soon.

More 38 Special rounds out there ammo manufacturers please.

Cost IS a factor too-ammo that's priced ridiculous means I won't be shooting much at all.

(Thanks GM-I'll look before I post next time)

Around the general Madison, WI area there are plenty of AR type rifles around. Have also seen plenty of Century Arms (WASR and similar) rifles around.
Have seen a lot of magazines starting to show up in stock at various places again. AR and AK mags, various pistol mags, etc.
"Pocket pistols" are really hit or miss. With CCW being somewhat new in this state, the little guns are still a hot item evidently. If you want to pay $100-200 over "normal" prices, you can usually find a few at Gander Mountain. I'm in the market but have not been able to locate any of the hot items that I am interested in (Shield, XDs, etc) at reasonable prices.

Ammo is still a bummer. If you don't have a good friend working at Wal Mart, you're evidently out of luck it would seem ;) There was a huge stack of 38spl WWB at Fleet Farm yesterday.
One box of .32 Auto and a couple boxes of .45ACP Federal SD ammo at Wal Mart.
Gander has recently had some 5.56 NATO of various flavors, at "one box per customer" limits. Tons of .40 S&W SD and some .380 SD loads at Gander as well. You have to hit Gander on delivery day to get anything 9mm or anything FMJ.

Local Big5 prior to closing this Friday had zero handgun ammo and zero 22LR. 223, steel cased 20 round, priced at $30. Rifle cartridges such as 300WinMag, 300Savage and some others were available but the quantity appeared low. Shotgun shells, as usual, appeared to be in good supply.

There's hope!!

Went to a local reloading store. They had HP38, Clays, auto comp, WSF and H4350.
So I picked up some hp38 :)

Then I went to my LGS and they had shelves of
9mm $17
38 $19
357
45
223 $34
Also had some AR packages

Nobody had primers though...

I've been trying to track down .22lr and 9mm lately. It seems the local Wal-mart stocks the shelves on Monday mornings. So I might stop by in the morning. Or I'll go late tonight. Trap loads seem to be disappearing as well!

While I was cruising through Midway's website this afternoon, I came to realize that I need something in 6.5mm, 7mm, or .25", as it seems there is a decent amount of reloading supplies, or bullets at least, in those calibers. Still waiting to find my pet Hornady 60gr .224" V-max, and Sierra Gamekings in .224", .244", and .308". I might be waiting a while...

Ordered some new production M2 ball projectiles (.308, 150 gr, flat base) from Widener's April 5. Delivered April 11! $395/2K.

They're still in stock now. It's starting to get better.

Can anyone give me prices on bulk ammo? our fleet farm got a bunch of ammo in. Most of it is crazy prices IMO. 31 for 100 wwb 9mm and and 50 for 100 of 45acp... Its really quite depressing.

Is this the new norm? I thought 19.95 for 100 was rough. :(
