I bought a case of 22 Mag years ago. I rarely shoot it out of my one 22 Mag revolver, so I'm set for a case load of zombies. I even gave a box of 50 to a friend who a bought a 22 mag revolver.

I did see it at WalMart the other day.

Visited my "local" Cabela's today (100-mile rnd trip) for the first time since July and was quite surprised to find the shelves pretty full of ammo .. prices were all over the map, spent $24.99 for 50 rds of White Box .45 and $14.99 for 50 rds of brass 9mm made in Serbia ... the 9 is close to what I used to pay there for Winchester 9mm, they didn't have today. JHPs and other defensive rounds were pricey too ... No .38 and no bricks of .22LR. That and .22mag were only available in 50-rd boxes for close to what I used to get a brick for; selection was very limited in those calibers. It appears that ammo is once again becoming more available, tho not less expensive ...

Well bikerbill there was a whole bunch of .22lr there last night when I went in. Lots of powder (got myself some CFE223), primers, and brass too.

Barnes TTSX 223 Ammo

Looking for loaded ammo in TTSX 62 grain 223. I can find 62 or 70 grain TSX, but not the TTSX. Anybody know who produces loaded ammo in the TTSX?

I make my own in the TTSX 55gr, shoots better in my .223. The TSX in 62 grain is hard to stabilize with my 1:9 twist.

Wonder how much longer before reloading prices return to normal because they are still more than double what they were. I really hope "double price" is not the new noramal for everything ammo related.

On a positive note: Dunham's Sporting Goods has been getting a nice supply of all pistol calibers. They're prices aren't the best but they have some on the shelf. They get 22lr once a week, 525lr - $22, line starts an hour before they open.
Rural King has some good prices but they have no limit on ammo purchases, so their shelves are usually empty.

I've never waited on line for an hour to buy anything in my life, and I hope I never have to. I think that the ammo situation is slowly, but very surely starting to return to normal, albeit at higher than pre-shortage prices.

Couldn't beleive it, found .22LR

Was at Academy today, and they actually had two boxes of CCI Mini Mags. Haven't seen anything since Christmas from last year. Almost fainted.

Cabelas has some 22LR listed on their Black Friday deal. Winchester in a wood box as I recall... so you may end up paying through the nose, but then, it's 22LR, so "through the nose" is relative to both cheap 22LR and our current shortage.

huntmoreoutdoors.com Has powder in stock and also primers cci and winchester anyway. I personally have never heard of the site happened across it attempted to order and said card failed. sent them an email he promptly replied then called by phone. Seemed very nice on phone explained problem to me and processed my order said will ship the next day. Other powders and primers available. Just thought I would let people know I still cant get powder where I live and all other online seems to be out.

I've been looking at the BF adds and so far Dick's Sporting Goods has the best deal on 22lr.

Dick's has 525 round boxes of 22lr for $19.99 in their Black Friday ad.
Gander Mountain has Remington Bucket o bullets in their ad, 1400 rounds for $79.99.
Cabelas also has 300 rounds in a wooden box for $16.99.

Dick's - 3.8 cents a round.
Cabelas - 5.6 cents a round.
Gander Mountain - 5.7 cents a round.

If you want to wait in line and take your chances.

My local Gander Mountain has no 22LR, and one of the clerks in the gun department stated that GM was supposedly now one of the top recipients of 22LR being manufactured and that "soon" I would be seeing more of it in the store. Since I have a few thousand rounds stockpiled, I am in no rush to buy overpriced ammo, but if I saw some at the prices you just quoted, I would buy a few thousand more.

Let us know how that works out. If a site I had never heard of said my good card failed I would wonder if it failed because they were hoping to get me to give them yet a second number. Now a company I have never heard of, with, at least, very poorly working website (questionable security at best) has my credit card number. I hope you get your order.

It could be legit, and I hope it is, but it would make me awfully nervous. Just let us know.

THanks.

Yesterday, Bass Pro had lots of 45 in various FMJ at the current prices. Lots of 40 and 223. All the other rifle calibers and shotshells were abundant.

The 22s were gone as were the 9 mm FMJs.

Dicks had tons of 9mm FMJ but no 22s.

I don't understand the 22 horders. There are folks on THR who still prowl the stores at opening. They can't be shooting them. I might shoot 125 a month at a match. So with a horde of 20000 - I'll be dead before using it.

I can honestly say that before .22LR went scarce, I was eating up about 500 rounds per range trip, and hitting the range around twice a month, more or less.

I do have a few boxes in my supply but I tend to shoot about half that much at each session since the drought began. And my consumption will drop more due to the cold weather, I simply won't be shooting as often until spring.

I had caught some goofball Facebook comment last night where someone said "I can't bear to shoot -ANY- rimfire and I have forty thousand rounds stockpiled." I truly have no idea if he was serious or simply trying to make someone get wide-eyed.

(FWIW, I am not a registered Facebook user. I simply must peruse a few Facebook pages in order to keep in tune with some purchasing opportunities, thus I am "forced" in to that world of utter stupidity.)

hunt more outdoors worked great received powder and no additional charge on card. Owner explained to me that he changed processing companies and that was the problem, when he ran it through machine at store it worked fine. also a "guy I know", yeah sounds made up, works in law enforcement ordered 4 kinds of ammo thru department 9mm,45,.38, 22lr, at beginning of shortage all went on backorder immediately 9mm came in a while later, a week after all shelves had 9mm 45 same thing 38 same thing. Tuesday he received 22lr and bass pro will have at least 300 bricks in every store tomorrow my assumption we need not worry much longer.
