The Sgt York rifle and stripper clip types?

20 rounds a minute was the standard for Brit rifles. There was a show where Gunny Ermey went up against an Enfield with a 1903. He lost. Then he went and got his Garand...lol.

LeeEnfield v. P17/P14 Enfield

Just so we're all sure........the Lee-Enfield or SMLE, and the P14/17 Enfield are NOT the same rifle, which has nothing to do with my OP but I sensed confusion/misinformation.

Back to stripper clips, no new insight, so we will have to ponder this one (the York rifle) some more.

Thanks again.

I have always heard the same as "44AMP". From my limited research of years ago, York was issued a model 1917 but disliked it because of the peep sights he was unfamiliar with. Acoording to my memories, York said he traded it for a 1903 at earliest oppurtunity because of the better sights. When this trade was made he never said. Take into account my memory isnt as good as it used to be (and it used to be terrible).
