The Ruger "New Unannounced Product" Flash Sweepstakes

My first idea earlier in the thread is what those knuckleheads should be making.

If they wanna get all lefty-crazy, they should make a Ruger version of the Randall Portsider!

If they are gonna make the American in a new caliber, I want .357 Magnum so I can get a .357 bolt gun with the price whacked down from the 77/357.

And the new firearm is.....

Ruger American Ranch (5.56x45mm and .300 Blk)

...and Ruger American Left Handed

So, I guess I was in the right model line.

Next up: ARV $400-800, and required agreeing to being able to possess a handgun in your state (not a requirement [for me] for the American Ranch rifle drawing).

I propose:
SR45c
or
40E

I'd like to think it would be more exotic, but Ruger seems to be in one of their mitosis phases right now.

--Wherein they split variation after variation off of existing models, until the lineup is so diluted, constipated, and redundant, that they then have a knee-jerk overreaction and cut 75% of their offerings back to "core" models. Right now, we're in the "algae bloom" phase, where variant derivatives are spawning at an uncontrollable rate. Soon, they'll reach critical mass and begin mass-extinction before or during SHOT Show 2016 (just a gut-feeling prediction - I have absolutely no data or information to back that up).

Boy, the way people post you'd think Ruger owed them something. It's a business. It's a marketing tactic. There is serious marketing thought behind introducing a gun. It might not be what one individual happens to like, but one individual is not the whole market. If the marketing doesn't work for you, don't buy move on. That simple.

I have been quite happy with Ruger's progression over the past half-decade or so, and my 1,000+ round flawless LCP and 5,000+ round 10/22 makes me raise an eyebrow at the "plastic that pieces fall off of" claim. Ruger makes nice, affordable (if a bit unrefined) stuff, and I'm a bit perplexed at the cynicism they're getting.

Ruger is also stated that they "Started with a blank sheet of paper" when they designed it.

Well, technically Remington did that too. They took a blank sheet of paper, put it on top of a picture of one of their old model 51s, then traced it on the paper with a green crayon.

Then they sent the tracing straight to the machinists.

Voila! Remington R51!
