The reliable handguns ... NOT

This is too bizarre to believe - left 2 handguns outside because he ended up in an ambulance and was not home for 2 days ....

makes me remember what a " leave it to beaver world" I live in ....

Reliability of your guns is not the issue / sorry - but you've got some things that need attention .... ( unload and lock your guns up, and get your head screwed back on, please -- before you hurt yourself or someone else ).

J-22. Not sure what I was thinking when I bought is. Not sure how to dispose of it at this point. Too bright for a fishing weight. But with my luck I would keep catching them and be stuck with the J-22...

I have to tell you that I find the leaving of 2 handguns outside for 2 days one of the stupidest things I have seen on these forums. Unless you were unconscious when the ambulance hauled you away there is simply no excuse for leaving them out there. You could have called a neighbor, or a friend, or a family member, to secure them. Or even had the ambulance crew call the police to secure them. But to simply leave them otside for 2 days...what the hell were you thinking?

What's your least reliable handgun?

All my current guns are quite reliable. All my unreliable guns are gone.

Over the years I have divested myself of an FIE deranged-er (dangerous with both chambers loaded, unreliable ignition), a Jennings J-22 (enough said), a Taurus 66 (ate firing pin springs) and a CZ-100 (broke several times under warranty, somewhat iffy functioning, never got off "new gun probation").

The worst of the bunch was the Jennings.

I have a Jennings J-22,paid $50 for it many years ago.I would not sell it to my worst enemy, though it shoots cci stingers perfectly , anything else it's a jammomatic...

I'm sorry to have to be this way but forgetting two handguns outside for TWO days is just irresponsible and dangerous. I do hope you live in a rural area where no one (children or even someone wishing you harm) could get at them.

Furthermore, if this is how you treat all your handguns I would not be surprised if even the most reliable handgun failed to operate. Have they ever been cleaned? Are they stock? Did you get them new? There is some information missing here. Did you just pick them up and fire? You know the barrel might have been plugged with ice depending on how you "left" them and you might have killed/injured yourself or someone else. There is just so much wrong here I could go on for a long time.

I doubt you will find many here would would take the HP over any of the 9mm Glocks based on reliability. WTF Indeed.

Time to chunk in another inexpensive brand of pistol. Somebody owed me some money, I took a brand new Hi Point .380 for the debt. It felt nice in the hand, went bang with every trigger pull, but a tad bulky for no print concealment.

Pawn Shop hopping spied a Jimenez .380, tiny, shiny, real easy to conceal,
about $175 and I have run a box or two of ammo through it, including jacket hollow points with no problems. Fits in my Cowboy boot, pocket, nice. They are made in Las Vegas and a dealer out of near Dallas is the source around here. Think they size from .22 to 9mm....:)

Both of mine are reliable. The "least" reliable would be my 1911. I had one failure to eject. One failure in around 5,000 rounds is a pretty good record, IMHO. My other hasn't had a failure yet.

I too, got rid of any unreliable guns. One that I have that has been perfect in every way is my Glock 26. If I had a Hi-point that was perfect, I'd probably still prefer the Glock.

I think everyone can agree that leaving 2 handguns outside for two days is not a good thing. He did mention an ambulance and being at the hospital. Maybe we can get past that part of the post and address the issue.

You can keep your High Point. This would be my handgun of choice to leave out in the elements. Maybe filled with antifreeze so it doesn't freeze and lock up on me in the cold.

Now there is undisputed proof that the low-point,,,,, I mean hi-point IS the best gun ever built,,,,, maybe I should get rid of my G26 with over 3000 rounds of never a failure and get me an over night wonder,,, the hi point.
No!,,,,, never mind.:barf:

"I once left my Yugo with the keys in it and the windows down..."

If I had to leave a handgun outside and unattended for two days, it would probably be a Hi-Point.

Of course, coming back to get it wouldn't be part of my plan.

There are over 30 posts to this thread and how many answered the question? If you want to criticize someone, I can understand that, but you should also answer the question if you're going to bother to post. I had a Jennings J-22 myself and I'm sure that if we had a forum wide poll, people would agree it's the worst gun of all time. Mine misfired more than it fired. Jose, may I suggest using it as a fancy paper weight? That's what I was doing with mine before I found a sucker.

I think when he said he left to handguns outside for two days in the rain and snow ever one forgot the question:eek: What is the worst gun I own I don't have one all work and do as they should:) I think most of us would really like to know why he ended up in the hospital???????

That's because the original post wasn't a "question", but a bit of flame-bait disguised as one.

There are a zillion threads on this forum, five hundred and thirteen of which come up when the terms "least reliable handgun" are plugged into the search engine, any one of which the OP could have accessed to find the information he wanted.

I accidentally left both Glock 26 and High Point 9mm Compact out in my backyard after cleaning... after two cold night of snow & ice...
How the hell does somebody forget two firearms and leave them sitting outside for two days? I mean... I can be absent-minded, but geez...

I see no good reason for this thread to continue. It started off relatively poorly and went downhill from there.
