The reason I love my S&W 4006

Have never had my 4006 jam or malfunction in any way either... :D

Never had your 4006 jam, well I have to ask have you shot it or is it still NIB.

C'mon, Pat. A little objectivity, please sir. We all know how you feel about Smith autos, but they are nothing like what you are trying to make folks think they are. The basic Smith auto platform has been around for a long time and is thoroughly debugged. Would I rather carry a Glock or a Sig instead of a Smith automatic? I do! I carry a G19 almost exclusively, although I've lately started carrying My Sig 225 when I want to feel stylish. :) But if I just had my 6904 or my 4506, I'd still feel comfortable, and well armed. Count me in among those who've never had a malfunction with a Smith auto they own. They are not the junk you're trying to portray them to be. C'mon, now. I think you know it's true. It's alright if they're not your cup of tea, buddy, but let's try and be a little more objective, OK?

Sorry I was out of line on that last one. Maybe its the harsh climate up here in AK that makes smiths fail more.

Could be, Pat. I've never had to deal with an Alaska winter. It may very well be that Smith auotos don't work well at 10 below. Here in Georgia, I hope to God I never get the chance to find out! :)

My S&W's have worked flawlessly both in the NJ cold (temps are below freezing in the winter -- sometimes hitting the single digits) and the FL heat.

I think that if you get a good S&W, it will be reliable. If you get a lemon, it won't (I got two lemons). Its just the luck of the draw with S&W. Theres plenty of good ones it looks like; however, in my experience they produce MORE lemons than Sig, Ruger, or Glock.

Thats tropical. Try ambiant temp of -50 and wind chills of -100.

I've had a 4566 for 9 years and thousands of rounds of ammunition. I used it as a duty gun for several years during that time. I've never had any type of jam or failure with it. I have seen more Glock failures at department qualification than with any other weapon, but we are on a "buy yer own" basis and Glocks are the most common sidearm in the department.

355sigfan, you got me there Pat. Don't recall many times when the temps went under 0. Windchills below 0, Yes; but actually temps, No.
