The "real" George story

But if that's your final word on the subject, it would appear that you have nothing else to add to this discussion...so thanks, good day, best of luck and all that.

'Not your thread or your place to dismiss anyone.

True. I thought you were finished.

Is it your conclusion that this is a subject not-to-be-discussed? If so...then I have no idea why you're continuing to discuss it.

Have I misunderstood your position?

GS27,
Normally I would agree with your entire statement, but this part,
That's what leadership is all about, and throwing tantrums in response to unhappy news is not, IMO, a healthy way to run a country, an effective leadership trait, or indicative of a healthy personality.
is something you didn't read in either of the 2 articles. This is what I mean about taking something out of context. There is no reference as to how he reacts, only that he takes it better coming from "Big Brown". Yes, I think a reasoned person can assume he does get pretty ticked at "bad news", whatever that means, but I don't think we can just assume he throws tantrums.

That is like taking the statement from the other article,
Mr. Bush had said three times, bringing a clenched fist to his chest, "I'm the president."
to mean that George pounded his fist against his chest like a blood-thirsty gorilla and screamed ...."
If you take a line from a story to alter the meaning, or you add to that line in a fashion as to imply it was really a part of the story, then you are wrong. Unfortunately, I believe it is the reason it is nearly impossible to achieve "honest" politics. Most politicians lie to all of us at one point or another, with the aid of so-called quotes or positions of their opponent. Many of them just flat out lie and get away with it. More-so I think as their "career" progresses.
