The Nerve!!!!

University Professor, You call yourself educated?

If you don't know the cyclic rate of fire of a Mod/ 1919A4, can't leather a windmill, shoe horses, drive a John Deere, fix "flats", you are just another
fur faced teacher in some license mill.

This is exactly what you should expect from college professors. I don't know how they manage to get all those fancy degrees without ever studying history or civics. They are all idiot savants, they poses knowledge or skill to an extraordinary degree at one specific thing, but are quite helpless and hopeless at all else in the real world.

Oh and I guess you are an adequate example of a Renaissance Man because you know how to do chores of everday life. If I can recall correctly from my not so distant youth, I had a couple of professors in college who, are you ready for this, had PhDs in HISTORY AND CIVICS:eek:.

most college professors have never left campus.they keep sticking around taking classes so that they won't have to get a job and before you know it they have a P.hd. in BS.and the college fiqures hell if you won't leave we might as well give you a "job".not all but most.

Oh man, you are just swimming with insight and clarity:rolleyes:. Where did you come up with that one??? Do you still believe in Noah`s Ark as well? I will not even dignify your statements with rational answers because you are probably one of those individuals who believes that a chemistry professor is analogous to a mad scientist.

If you don't know the cyclic rate of fire of a Mod/ 1919A4, can't leather a windmill, shoe horses, drive a John Deere, fix "flats", you are just another fur faced teacher in some license mill.

...and I guess if one is capable of the above, then one can be classified as another fur faced redneck in some trailer park.:barf:

Seriously guys, this tirade on higher learning is not justified. For every aging, hippie, liberal douche professor teaching in academia, there are just as many conservative-thinking profs teaching as well. Obtaining a doctorate (in most circumstances) is a very difficult, time consuming process which requires the candidate to study as many aspects and concepts of their research that is permissible. Unfortunately, too many on this board criticize something which they know virtually nothing about.

Curiosity yields evolution...satiety yields extinction.

You are kidding right?

At the NTI - a rather high end event - there were three psychologists with PhDs and one PhD anthropologist. Two were college professors. I gave a talk to all those practitioners about the psychology aspects of legal gun use.

You may remember that the major progun professional books in the literature were written by PhDs in universities. Kleck, Lott, Jacobs, Kohn, Oyster, Stange and some others I don't recall now. Currently there is an article in Chronicle of Higher Education debunking some of the antigun hysteria from VTech.

Jan Libourel has a PhD in history from Oxford.

DCougar - didn't mean to insult your paper. Also, I was responding to some of the other slams on PhDs. I had to laugh as I wrote as a first paper in English a strong anticommunist paper. I got an 'F' - however, my writing was crappy.

No offense taken Glenn. I'm just glad you all could add some insight. I'm sure that won't be the last person I have a disagreement with about the Second Amendment.

One of the objectives of college is to learn how to succeed. Congratulations; you have learned a valuable lesson.
