George, it is a great pleasure to 'meet' you. Perhaps you and I will have a chance to meet someday as well. I've enjoyed chatting with Kodiac for quite some time.

No... I dont follow Round Track...
I am a fan of Road Racing and Rally. Motorcycle racing as well.

Constant high speed left turns are a little tiresome.
 
Metro - Indeed... But I prefered the suspension on the Mercur XR4TI - Basicaly another pumped Escort.
Audi makes a vicous Rally car, A Toyota Supra can too - but the Audi's Quattro system gives you stability that you need when going flat out around a high speed turn on a gravel road with a 4 wheel drift and huge oversteer.

I am going to put my GEO into Rally service when I get my Caprice on the road again. The Geo Metro - believe it or not is a goo choice - it has a light body, and is capable of taking the SPRINT's 4 cylinder Turbo engine that can be tweeked to deliver over well 150 horses. There is a euro only version that is all wheel drive... but Front wheel drive works fine fo rally - but i hate the feeling understeer gives you... whick means you compinsate with a touch of E-Break to kick the back out just enough to point the car in the right direction. With a tight suspension and a 6 inch lift - you can fit in 14 inch wheels with some decent tyres. Weld on a roll cage (inside or out), and add a brush guard and some real off road lights and you got a good racer.

You name a car and it can Rally - Look at the Paris-Dacar rally - they even race FIRE TRUCKS!

I have seen a little Ford Fiesta in rally gear that was just plain EVIL... it did good too - well - untill it caught fire... Oh, wait - Yeah - that was MY CAR!
