The longer you carry ... the bigger it gets.

One day I was bored, and went to the Supermarket with my 6 inch Colt Anaconda in a vertical shoulder holster... just for sh*ts and giggles!

I find the holster is the most important item in concealed carry.A comfortable IWB is the best for me as long as i have a good belt and a little extra room in the pants.Of course I need to wear a outside the pants shirt of somekind..When I am able to wear a sweater or jacket then an OWB is most comfortable.I've never liked the pocket holsters, but do use them when I have to wear a short sleeve shirt tucked in my pants. My next holster will be one of the concealable tuck in shirt jobs.Soon I'll have tried all I want, and start trying to empty my holster drawer. What To do about a cross-draw for the car is next. :D

IMO, if it is worth carrying a gun then it is worth carrying a "real" gun.
A lot of this comes from having to use a gun to save my life before. Let me tell you, you will view your gun far differently from that time on. When you pull it out and get that feeling that you may not have enough gun to save your hide, then suddenly you decide that the next time to pull it, you are going to be sure you have a real gun.

There is also a difference between people that carry a gun expecting to never need it, thereby thinking that a mouse gun is plenty, or the other people that expect that some day they will need the gun and therefore it is worth carrying a real one.

I have noticed a profound amount of comfort after carrying concealed for a decade. I can pack a Glock 32 under just a T-shirt and feel fine. Being that I live in well over 100 degree temperatues most of the time, this is considered a pretty big gun for shorts, sandals and a T-shirt.

The truth is, people are oblivious to their surroundings. No one but you are going to notice a little bulge. And, most people that see the bulge are going to register it as the plethora of other things that people carry under their shirt these days: pagers, cell phone, day planners, fat wallets, etc etc etc.
I carry a mid sized Glock under just a T-shirt and the only time it even bulges a little is it I bend very wrong. No one has seen it for years and no one will.

Keeping concealed is more about YOU and your attitude than anything else. If you look, feel, and emit a calm belonging and peace, then no one will look at you funny. If you walk around self conscious then everyone is going to sense that and look for why you are acting funny.
Be natural, YOU are the only one that notices YOU, because everyone else is caught up in their little lives and could care less about you or their surroundings.

There is no way I will carry anything less than a 9mm as a primary. Having seen the elephant, the next time I see him I refuse to be holding a mouse gun. That is my experience and I cannot understand anyone that has seen the elephant and feels that a half dozen rounds of .32 out of a mouse gun is enough. I guess it depends on the size and attitude of the elephant that person saw.

I only carry the pistol because no matter how hard I try, the rifle is just to dang hard to conceal. 'Nuff said. Stay safe.

I've been carrying hy full-size USP40 for a while now, and have been planning to downsize to G27 or a G29. I've been waffling back and forth wbout the bigger vs. easier to conceal bit for a while. This thread just made my mind up. G29 it is...in a Talon Plus! :)
