The Left" and personal behaviour?

stuck at work for the day until I get our phone network cleared of all its' bugs :(

My premise is that Democrats and their ilk are far more accepting of actions most people inherently consider wrong, unacceptable, whatever.
Let's start with this. How can you justify the claim that most people consider this behaviour immoral? Can you prove that more Americans feel the way you do as oppossed to the way I do?

A few of these were high profile cases involving Democrats and in each case, Democrats rallied behind the person.
Prove it?

None of this "it's none of my business" BS or evasive answers!
Since you're automatically dismissing the idea that something isn't my business you've already skewed the results. Thank god you're not a statistician.

1)Congresswoman McKinney hitting a police officer?
She should recieve the same punishment that I or anyone else would.
2)Marrion Barry in a hotel w/a hooker, smoking crack?
While the smoking crack is not a good idea considering he had to make important decisions that affect anyone around him, if it wasn't affecting his job then I don't care. If the hooker wasn't affecting his job, I don't care either. Prostitution should be treated like any other business, subject to health and safety regulations. ****ing is legal, selling is legal, so selling ****ing should be legal.

3)A standing president having extra-marital sex in the White House(not the sleeping areas).
Long as she wasn't a foreign spy, why should I care? Was it affecting his job before the massive inquiry?

4)Cheating on your spouse for no other reason than that your bored and want something new?
Unless the spouse in question is someone I know and care about, it's none of my damn business. If you started cheating on your wife why would it be my responsibility to do something about it? I don't know her, it's none of my business.

5)A kid in class coming in and putting his feet up on the teachers desk, refusing repeated requests by the teacher to take them down?
Would wind up in detention for a week. The parents are at fault for not teaching their child that it's rude to interfere with the learning of his classmates.
HAPPY 4th of JULY!
same to you! :D have a safe and happy holiday

don:
Yes, I believe there is a difference between punishment and abuse, often the line is blurred by the "feel good" crowd.
Who gets to decide where that line is? What if someone else's line is a bit harsher than yours?

2A, I believe in classical liberalism - taking responsibility for my own actions and not butting into other people's affairs. Leftist would say that you not only have to accept the actions of others, but that you should approve of them. The mental gyration of claiming that non-intervention is actually passive advocacy is just another what of advancing the statist concept of telling other people how to run their lives.

Nice dodge. You drive it often? :D

I already noted the difference between actual (classical) liberalism and the leftism being discussed here. But "passive advocacy", while not really anything I want to get in to, is a part of the issue here if those people are the same ones who adhere to modern leftist thought. How do you think they are raising their kids, for example, and how passive will they be?

I don't support any statist intervention on any of it, but noting it for what it is hardly has to go down that road. You have to recognize it to combat it on your own at a personal level.

Shucks, I forgot to answer DasBoot's questions (even using my substitute answers :D ), so, do I 'advocate' the actions listed?

1) No; nobody should hit cops.
2) No; politicians should not break the law.
3) No; people should be fired for having sex at work (it's an issue of business ethics).
4) No (generally); people should be honest with their marital partners (exception for mutual consent).
5) No; students should be respectful of teachers.

2A,
Nice dodge. You drive it often? :D
No, I'm actually an Explorer sort of guy. :D

The whole point is that neither the left nor the right have a corner on morality. advocating or being a hypocrite are both wrong.

Blah blah Democrats blah blah not like us blah blah blah not real Americans blah blah blah.

I've seen this too many times to humor you.
