Dont ask how i know cause i wont tell you.
And i dot care if u believe me. Cause i know im right

The ammo used to KBL was whats called 5.56 optimized or 5.56 brown tip. Its not spoken of much and only the SEALS use it for very special ops.

The bullet used in the 5.56 optimized is the Barnes 70gr. TSX and yes the 10.4" HK416 was used

It has been confirmed by several people close to HK that it was indeed, the 416. The company will never publicly confirm it because of their own ties to the special operations community.

The 416 makes sense, they are a navy unit and never know when they may get wet, and it is nice to come out of the water without waiting for you rifle to be dry-cleaned before using.

>>ok I'm going to shout this as loud as I can since I'm on a really high horse.
I am in the military and I work with the highest level of classification availible to DOD personell and I will say that not one of the briefs I read listed the weapon used to kill bin laden. the only way you'll ever know is to ask the seal that pulled the trigger and if he has half a brain, he will never let it be known that it was him that did it. M11s, M1911s, M9s, HK416, MP7s, M4s, MP5s, all of these guns were PROBABLY carried by at least one member of the strike team that took him out. every manufacturer that has sold even a single weapon to a SEAL unit can CLAIM that their weapon was used to kill Bin Laden but there is no way anyone who wasn't there will ever know.

>>it's marketing pure and simple.

>>EDIT: the HK556 has been availible to civilians for years, this is just H&K trying trying to sell more guns.

So let me get this right. You've confirmed on the internet: your affiliation with military intel, your clearance level, AND you're confirming your ongoing access to classified information, AND you're confirming the lack of information from classified reports you've read and have a legal obligation to protect???

I believe you're either a fraud or an idiot.

BTW There is no such firearm as the Hk 556, the MR556 became available to civilians in 2009, not exactly several "years" ago.

ok so random, unidentified, internet man is a member of one of 5 branches of the military, has a clearance level that was never specified and has not released a single shred of classified information. last I checked I was never told to protect information that was not included as part of a classified document. I was merely pointing out that there is no way that anyone will ever know exactly what was used.

You know damn well you you have a LEGAL obligation to neither "confirm or deny" irregardless of whether you are operating in a anonymous capacity or not.

You also stated that you have the highest level of clearance, that's extremely easy to derive.

I'll leave it at that...

Well, not spoken of much, but if you google "5.56 brown tip" you will only find 202,000 hits for it.

So sure, if they were using a 10" barrel, that would be a good choice of ammo to use.

Who cares?

Would it matter if the fatal shot was from a 30-40 Krag? NO!

He's dead and the gun that killed him does not have magical powers.

I am more interested in the helicopters they were flying in.
