The Clinton Legacy

I simply think Clinton is a disgrace. Bush may have gotten us into a war, but at least it was in the name of national security and maybe in defense of our economy as well.

Clinton was just using his office to screw around with the nation when he should have been concentrating on leading it forward.

hmm

1. He was a Rhodes Scholar and had a perfectly good reason not to be sent into the war. As did many others than never got to use their influence to stay out but then again I see nothing wrong with a man refusing to fight a war that he believes his nation has no business fighting. America wasn't under attack and thus compelling people to fight there was tantamount to slavery.

2. Lying about what he did was his greatest crime. That certainly deserves condemnation but sexual indiscretion isn't something that ruffles my feathers. He's still human, he's still a man. She wasn't an innocent sweetheart coerced into something she didn't want to do; she knew what she was doing and everything they did was consentual. Had he simply admitted it in the first place I would've laughed and we could've all gone about our business.

3. While he certainly doesn't deserve as much credit as he gets for the economy considering the late 90s was the result of the tech industry, some of what his actions in office, including the signing of the DMCA, were essential to that tech industry boom. Though suggesting that the surplus was all him is as ridiculous as suggesting Al Gore invented the internet (which so many republicans try to use as fodder despite the fact that he never made such a claim).

4. GHT: Trying to decide which family, Kennedy or Bush, has produced the most dispecable example of lousy politician is like trying to decide whether Pizza Hut or Dominos makes the more disgusting pizza.

I'm not saying he was a great president - I don't like a LOT of the things he did - but damned if some of y'all don't have the same irrational loyalties to the current ding dong in the oval office.

George: I voted for George, even thought I thought he was nothing more than an amiable goober, because he was preferable to Al. Then 9-11 showed that George could be focused and disciplined. I don't like everything that George has done, but he is consistent and predictable.

Bill: Everyone knew he was a fun guy before he was elected. SNL, playing the sax, playing with interns - nobody can deny that he was entertaining. He didn't accomplish much of significance, but maintaining the status quo is not bad if things are going well. Too bad he lacked the character to admit to silly indiscretions (that everyone expected him to be involved in).

Hillary: She was the puppet-master in Arkansas and tried to be in Washington. She is smart, cold, and calculating. She frightens me because she not only wants to be President, but wants to rule America.

..I think we have to be dead and on the other side to really find out the truth about the Clintons...I suspect if will be pretty awful to gaze upon...

My opinion is I don't really support Bush or Clinton. But if Clinton couldn't even keep the vows of his marriage sacred enough, who thought he was going to keep the vows of his office sacred.

"He's just a man, he's still only human."

Oh please. He an adulterer. Humans have free will, and thus have the free will to keep it in their pants. Unfortunately in this country that doesn't really seem to be a big deal anymore. The only reason hillary stayed with him was for the chance to ride his political coat tails into a run at the office. And God have mercy on this country if she gets her claws on it.

Yes Bush made mistakes. No we shouldn't be fighting someone else's battles. On the other hand, noone else on earth was making any efforts to free the Iraqi citizens from a blood thirsty dictator. I don't know why it always has to be us, but shouldn't it be somebody. The point is I don't think men like Clinton should be allowed anywhere near D.C. much less in the highest office in the land.

People say there's no such thing as an honest politician. Well who's responsible for that. The government is supposed to be for the people, by the people. But when the government starts bearing down on the people, all they seem to do is whine and complain.

I'm not an expert on government. So maybe i'm wrong. But it sure seems there is a lot more whining and a lot less action these days.

DINGDINGDING! Glock 31 for the win.

Not to mention he (Clinton) was a spineless little weasel who hurt our credibility and resolve world wide with his policy of "cut and run when it gets tough"

I would say "when the Govt asks of people" (famous JFK speech, yes?)...

But yes, whining is rampant these days...

Sad

I think this one nails it........

Students were assigned to read 2 books, "Titanic" &"My Life" by Bill Clinton. One student turned in the following book report, with the proposition that they were nearly identical stories. He got an A+ for this report:

Titanic: $29.99
Clinton: $29.99

Titanic: Over 3 hours to read
Clinton: Over 3 hours to read

Titanic: The story of Jack and Rose, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe.

Clinton: The story of Bill and Monica, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe.

Titanic: Jack is a starving artist.
Clinton: Bill is a bull**** artist.

Titanic: In one scene, Jack enjoys a good cigar.
Clinton: Ditto for Bill.

Titanic: During ordeal, Rose's dress gets ruined.
Clinton: Ditto for Monica.

Titanic: Jack teaches Rose to spit.
Clinton: Let's not go there.

Titanic: Rose gets to keep her jewelry.
Clinton: Monica's forced to return her gifts.

Titanic: Rose remembers Jack for the rest of her life.
Clinton: Clinton doesn't remember Jack.

Titanic: Rose goes down on a vessel full of seamen.
Clinton: Monica...ooh, let's not go there, either.

Titanic: Jack surrenders to an icy death.
Clinton: Bill goes home to Hilary...basically the same thing

:D

If it is possible I think I like this set of analogies even better than the first. Keep them coming!

I could be wrong, but by my count, there are only 4 posts, out of 32, that are on topic. Yet the thread as a whole is off topic.
