The best shooter in my collection is...

a 225?!? I am not a SIG fan but of all the handguns I own this is the best shooter for me. Yesterday, I shot several 0.5" (center to center) 5 shot groups at 15yds. I can duplicate this with no other handgun in my collection including the other SIG. The test target that arrived with the pistol had a sub 1" group at 25 meters. I said to myself, "Yeah maybe out of a Ransom Rest and match ammo blessed by the Pope." Guess I'll stop being quite so cynical.

I will still carry my Wilson but I may go find a SOB or IWB for carrying the 225 in the small of my back as a back up.

What is your sweetest shooter? Do you carry it? Did it surprise you that it was the best in your collection?

Glock 21. I was really surprised when I rented it-- since past experience with Glocks was so-so (the 9's and .40 Glocks lack accuracy). But after renting the Glock 21, I bought one almost immediately after. I get quarter sized groups @15 yards. There is one flyer (always the fourth round in the magazine) so I think its a magazine problem. But 9/10 shots in a quarter sized hole is awesome-- and the one flyer hits reasonably close-- usually 1/2 inch off the group at 11:00 position.

I like my Smith model 29's but they cannot compete with my Ruger Super Blackhawk 10.5" for pin point accuracy. But hands down it is a Smith & Wesson model 57 6". The .41 magnum cartridge is, in my not so humble opinion, the all time most accurate caliber I have found.

I was promised a Shortycicle and I want a Shortycicle!

The gun I shoot the best is my S&W model 13. Course I carried it for over 20 years on the job and practice a lot with it. My second best is my little .44 Bulldog. Another gun that I have had forever and practiced alot with. As for automatics my Springfield SS .45 Super is the one that I shoot pretty good with in my auto collection. Course I haven't practiced with it nearly as much as I have with the others. Maybe with time I'll get real good with it too.

Les Baer Premier II. Makes me look like I know what I'm doing. :) Followed closely by my P228. I'm a happy guy!

I'm old and deceitful.

My 1955 Target in 45ACP (25-2). If I miss it's my fault. 2 1/2" at 50yds. I'm sure the gun will do better, but I can't.

SIG P220.

The best weapon for self defense is the one you have when the need arises!

My Witness 9mm (Nowlin barrel hard-fit by Bob Cogan / APW), my Caspian 1911 ('smithed by Scott Chapman, Bar-Sto barrel), and a dead-stock Redhawk 7.5" ss .357 all make itsy bitsy teeny tiny wee little groups, but at 25 yds.

My 40 S&W EAA (factory match barrel fit by me) is a pretty dead-nuts shooter, too.......

Aw, come on Quantum Singularity, everyone knows that Glocks cannot be that accurate. You must be lying.

Seriously though, my Glock 30 is the most accurate of my bunch.

Right now I would have to say that it is my Glock 27. Maybe because that is the one I've been shooting the most :)

Happy Shooting :)
