The Best 9mm pistol?

The one I just won a match with, or met a goal with. It varies. :D

Kind of like asking what is the best pick-up.

All the following answers will be correct.

Or not, depending on you.

Or maybe.

Depending on you.

For me the 92FS or the Ruger 1911.

But you're not me or what quirks I have.

My personal favorite is the CZ-75B. But, I think such a question is better served with a list of the top ones due to so much personal opinion being involved. A list would probably look something like this, as one of my criteria would be a proven track record...

Glock 17/19
Sig P226
CZ-75 (I'd actually take the SP-01 variant over the "classic" design)
Beretta 92
M&P 9

What is the best car, truck, motorcycle, watch, loud speaker, headphones, camera, power drill, dish washer, wine, beer, pillow??

Here are some candidates for 9MM pistols IMO from currently available mass produced non custom models.

What will be best for a particular shooter depends on budget, intended use such as all around/CCW only/ range/ competition/ home defense/professional, how the pistol fits a users hands/fingers, preferred trigger action, and ultimately how well he can shoot it.

Metal frame hammer fired:
SIG P225/226/229/239
CZ 75 series
Beretta 92 series
Browning Hi Power
Sphinx SDP (mostly metal frame but poly grip)
1911 9MM - Dan Wesson, etc

Poly frame hammer fired:
Anything HK including USP/P30/P2000
SIG SP2022
CZ P07/P09
Beretta PX4 series

Poly frame striker fired:
SIG P320 series
Glock 17/19/26/43
HK VP9
Walther PPQ/P99/PPS

3rd generation are best

BERETTA 92

SIG 228

CZ75

for the best reliability, I would go with the 3rd generation more modern 9mm pistols.

from around the mid 1980's and later

CZ75

Beretta 92

1911

Those are my favorites of the dozen or so I've owned and/or shot. IMHO it's going to vary a lot from individual to individual, especially due to hand size. There are a whole lot of reliable and accurate 9mm pistols out there. The best one for you is the one you shoot the best.

I guess you never heard of Bryers? So sad. :D

Im very happy with my Ruger SR9c, I also like my Ruger P95. I doubt they are the best, but they are certainly good pistols that are accurate, well made, and reliable.

I think my CMMG MK9 pistol is the best
