The anti-gun male

The only thing I'm sure of is that most anti-gunners have a tendency to reject logical reasoning when it comes to the various issues surrounding firearms

For antigun bigots, logic, fact and reality all have nothing to do with it...

Those who can't cope seem to have a deep seated fear and distrust of those who can.

I'm afraid of chain saws. But then again I've never had occasion to use one. Should the need arise, I will learn to use it and use it properly. In the mean time I'm not about to try to stop you folks who can and do use chain saws from doing so. That would be silly.

And I'm not sure that we can do anything about the person who is deeply anti-gun. That attitude seems to be a mental aberration. But IME those who have something of an open mind can often be turned around by taking them out and teaching them to shoot.

*S*...plus one to stratus too. :o

I think that most of them can be turned around if given the opportunity. I've met several that were scared of 'em, but none of them that refused to touch one. Most of the ones I have taken to the range found out that they actually enjoy shooting.
The more serious problem is that so many (a majority) are willing to encroach upon the second amendment illegally. The main problem as I see it is that they don't believe that the 2nd applies to all of us in the first place.

Some people you just have to write off. My wife's best friend has a pathologic fear of guns. This woman would wet herself if she walked into the same room with a gun - she would react like she had been locked in a phone booth with a cobra (not a Colt Cobra:D - the snake).

People who are that far gone cannot be converted, as far as I know. If anyone has been able to convert a pathologic gun-phobic, tell us your story - how did you do it??
