The #$%&*@! ACLU after the Boy Scouts: More evidence of the Bolshevik Mentality

I agree with everything all of you have posted so far. E-mails and letters may help but the bottom line in this one is that the ACLU has found a weak link. They and the activist groups have found that they connot force a private group to bend to thier will. But government is another story. They receive Federal Public funds. Because of that they don't have a leg to stand on. The only way this could be stopped is if the city gives the property to the Boy scouts while the ACLU isn't looking. I am afraid that they will win this in court because the property in question is public property. I think the only way out is a fundraiser to help them buy property so that it is kept private. Maybe the city can offer the existing property at a reasonable price, if not they had best be getting ready to move when the lease is up. I have ranted on these anti-rights tail ends before over the removal of the word God from government symbols and wonder what a person will say when being sworn-in during a court proceeding. "I swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me..?... Remember the ACLU is also a sworn enemy to gun owners. According to my Gun facts version 2.0 from Guy Smith, in September 1976 Their Board of Directors is quoted as stating "We urge passage of federal legislation .......... to prohibit... the private ownership and possession of handguns". Any questions?
The whole concept is to have a completely non-sexual environment. I don't see why it's wrong to exclude gays or women from this. I have no problem with either, and in fact I am extremely fond of women. It just makes sense that if you want an environment where no sexual acts will be taking place, and severe problems would be caused if they did, you want to remove most possibility. After many molested boyscouts during the 80s and early 90s, it's become quite an issue.
I would put this akin to banning guns from nightclubs. Nightclubs are places that if guns are brought into, there is an inherently high factor of problem, including theft of weapon, loss of weapon, accidental, and even purposeful discharge, of the weapons. Add to this the presence of alcohol and it becomes clear that its not a good place to have weapons. I think most people understand that, even most of the fervent pro-gunners, such as many on TFL. Why can't the liberals just accept that there are places where their idealogy just doesn't fit either? I don't get why they have to keep pushing their platform and being so unreasonable. I guess if they were reasonable, they wouldn't be liberals, so what should I expect?

Don't take this as a flame, just an observaion from my smooth brain.
A non sexual enviroment may best be achieved by not having young boys and girls (and straight and gays) at the same camp. We people do act and speak differently around people who we are attracted to. I remember trying to impress the little girls by showing how tough I was. And of coarse I failed to impress. Haven't we all been to dinner parties or bar-B-Q's were all the guys are in one room and the ladies in another. Mix us together and the atmosphere changes.
And banning weapons from bars should be left to the owner of the establishment, IMHO. Not the USGOV.

My only complaint about the pseudo-religion know as the Boy Scouts is that they should be up front and call themselves a religious organization. They exclude anyone who does not practice a monthesitic relion that has a male deity. Pagans, hindus, Budists, Atheists, and several other religions are excluded from participating in their activities because they do not belive in a single male diety. Performing your Duty to God is in the Scout oath, as such, that makes them a religious group. They should not hide the fact that they are a religious group.

Public opinion is already tainted.. not too long ago, someone in my area called a local talk show and referred to the boy scouts as a "right wing, red neck organization". It made me sick.....
