the 40 s&w does it have an accuracy problem

I have a colt 1911 in 40 that shoots under one inch off the bench with my favorite load. I have a Barsto barrel in it which does not hurt.

ON the face of it your statement is true. But a good shooter will shoot a more accurate gun better than one that is less accurate. The shooter and gun are both part of the picture.
