The .22LR Target Pistol Disease

Yeah, I went to school with kids like you. ;)

One of my friend's dad bought him a Belgium-made, SA-22, .22LR breakdown rifle, Grade 2.

Color me green with envy.:o

I have recently seen Browning Medalists on the auction sites, so you can still get one. Of course they are now $1000 to near $2000. Papa also made me a holster that was wore butt forward on right hip due to the large thumb rest on the grip. I used to wear it hunting and shot many, many Texas black-tailed jack rabbits at long range with it. I'm very lucky that Papa bought me that pistol, as he almost bought a Ruger 22 instead for about $25 less. His friend that owned the gun store talked him into the Browning. Papa has been gone for over 25 years now, but that pistol and other guns he bought me bring back the memories each time I shoot them.

This disease must be going around.:)I just started adding mods. to a Ruger Mark II Target. I can't seem to stop. Seeing the pictures of all these has got me lusting after more.

darkgael, The Colt Camp Perry breaks a bit over 1 pound very smooth with out any take up. Free pistol of it's day?

So many targets, so little time.

I see how there is a .22 pistol disease out there. My first handgun was a Browning Buckmark 18yrs ago. I've shot it quite a bit over the years. And it's still my favorite and most accurate hundgun I own.

Wanted to get a .22 that I could mount a red dot on. So I recently purchased a S&W 22A. Haven't purchased the optic yet. But it's a shooter as well.

If I come across one for the right price or I get all my other accesories purchased. I would like to add a Ruger .22 to the collection as well.

Hey KSblazer

I did what your talking about to my S&W 22A...put a Red-Dot on the back-end. Works great on a gun that was doing fine with open sights also.

Here's mine-:)

Shot my first match with the M41 and open sights yesterday.

Did "meh"....I can shoot much better than I performed in the match.

So, back to the range today.

Re-mounted the micro red dot.

Sighted it in at 50yds.

2" groups from a rest (and I'm no marksman)

Next match I plan to shoot both classes:
K22- irons
M41- red dot

Held a few in my hand yesterday -- Buckmark, 2245, and Mark III. The Mark III target felt the best by in my hand. It was followed by the Buckmark then the 2245. Should have my Mark III today after my background check clears.

This is my Mark II I've been modifying.I shot some bullseye many years ago and am toying with getting back in to it again.Good enough for a starter may invest in something else if I can hide it from the wife:)
