Thats it, i am out of this State.

you'll have me right behind ya'...

guess I'll start letting Dad, ( a VA resident), buy my rounds for me. If the mail order thing doesn't work out of course!!!

The morons doth protest too much, methinks. But, it's for the sake of the children.

What a wonderful thing!

This will do wonders for the underground economy, encourage smuggling, and create hordes of new criminals.
And Prohibition worked so well...
I'm sure that Maryland had succeeded in stopping all those illegal street drugs at the border, so this will be the next step, and just as successful...:D

The Law of Unintended Consequences is gonna bite some of these geeks in the arse one of these days.

We're preaching to the choir fellas . . .

Some good points and a couple of pithy statements made here, but they're wasted. Drop these people your comments.
These bozos probably never hear from anybody but the faithful, so let's give 'em a touch of the "O Crap! Somebody's watching!" business, more commonly known as the "Shine the Light on the Roaches" approach. Maybe if they all started getting some heat every time when they proposed one of these idiotic bills, they might think twice the next time.

The problem is that they're using the "throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks" routine. If we don't watch and gripe, no matter where we live, one of these laws might come in under the radar and set a precedent.

Go here to find your State critter, if you live in Maryland: http://archive2.mdarchives.state.md.us/msa/who_reps/html/who_reps.html

Write one of these Baltimore imbeciles who sponsored this bill and cc the rest, whether you're a local or not (you don't have to tell 'em ;) ):

For you Maryland residents. Have you heard of a newsletter called, "Tripwire"? The author puts it out at his own expense and the contributions of readers. The author does an analysis of the bills being presented each General Assembly session and a bunch of other factual data. Some of the authors musings and observations of the Annapolis scene are quite funny.

As soon as I find it, I will put the name and address on this Message Board.

Also, the Maryland Rifle and Pistol Assoc. newsletter also does an analysis of various bills being proposed. Cost $15 a year to join the Association.

Another good dumb law

I think we should push this with everything we've got. These are the types of laws we need to get to the Supreme Court with. How can we ever get there if we staunch every jackass law they propose? You can't just ask for an individual right ruling out of these guys. They have to have something to act on.

The other side of this coin is that every shooter in the state should keep tabs on every round they buy and deduct this from their state income tax as a tax already paid to the state, just like vehicle taxes, etc.

jimpeel, if I remember correctly, in Maryland if you itemize deductions, you have to use the same ones you used on your Federal return. State Sales Tax is not a deductable tax. Only Property Taxes are deductable. There may be other types of taxes that are deductable. Of course, State Income Tax is a Federal deduction.

I think I got this right.

Also, would you want to indicate on your Tax Return how much and what kind of ammo you bought? Suppose the State wants to see your receipts? ;)
