Hey you guys visiting other boards, (you know who you are!

)

I just wanted to say a few things. First, i hope you are not upset with me because of my recent message to, "... Settle in for a few days and keep your powder dry..."

I said this because i wanted to see how far this "open conversation" was going to go on before someone felt that they were being insulted again. Not because i think any of you have been inappropriate, because i don't. Not because i disagree with anything that you've said, again i don't. And not because i disagree with your semantics, i don't.

Oddly enough, i believe it (new feelings of insult) have already happend, dispite the asserted attempt to answer questions in a friendly manner. (That was quicker than i expected.)

Second, I completely agree with the observation of disconnect. I have been extremely amused to see that posting articles reporting the use of a firearm for actual self-defense is anecdotal, but posting concerns about 6-year-old in Flint is a watershead event. I completely agree that the 'left hand knows not what the right is up to'.

I'd like to ask that we refrain from adding to that particular conversation until after the weekend is over, so that the 'kindler and gentiler' amoung us can fully 'wear out their welcome' as it were... Then, if you must post (and i must

), try to point out references to changing definitions and unfair conversational tactics as offen as possible.

Do you think this debate is making any positive momentum?

I like to go over there occasionally and stir them up a little.They are predictably negative and resentful about men,especially those who don't behave deferentially and apologetically.They are quite rude too and love to be vulgar--quite amusing really.
They love to complain about how ill done by they are--I see it as a group of socially inept fatties trying to justify themselves to each other and anyone else who might listen.
What I really like to do is indulge in an Australian behaviour called "Crypto Hoonism".
This involves ambiguous yelling and half insults that can't be easily understood or pinned down--they then respond to what they
imagine they heard or saw and expose themselves and their attitudes.
"Crypto-Hoonism" developed over here from the practices of "Hoons" (young rowdies) driving past people at speed and shouting insults at them---not all the message got thru,but enough to annoy usually did.
For example-one might shout "you long haired prick" and the intended recipient might just hear "prick" or "long haired".As the art form
developed nonsense words and animal sounds were added.Try it--it's fun.
