It is to my understanding that you also need a special magazine or at least followers which enable the 7.62x25 round to fit/feed at a slanted angle because the cartridge is too long to fit into the magazine/grip in the ordinary orientation.
Also, as a result, a standard .45 ACP 1911 Magazine can only fit 4-5 rounds of 7.62x25 Tokarev.
