tell me im wrong...

I don't hate Remingtons. I just like them the way they came originally with long barrels. You have to admit that those are some ugly grips and don't come close to being a good fit.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the grips, I was wondering where the seller would actually get something like that to even remotely fit the frame. They are some type of plastic I would imagine.

Evidently Hawg never saw any of my Gunslinger Remy's I built BEFORE Pietta and Uberti decided to build the Sheriff's models. Like to think all the chatter about the Gunslinger's caused that to happen.

Hawg is right the 5 1/2 inch Remy's never were built that way at the factory, but I bet that some got cut down during the conversion heyday.

Easier to clear leather with a shorter barrel. Have I ever Seen a Cut down original? Only one comes to mind, but a lot of modified Remy originals out there.

There is a place for them all.

I know some were indeed cut down. Full length is just my preference.

Remmies...... phhhhtt.

I like the longer barrels too..... they're heavier an' it don't take as many of em sank on a rope to hold my boat steady in the wind. :p

^^^ Bullcrap. That's just ignorance speaking. All he has to do is to ship them in separate boxes *just like the dealers do* and it's perfectly legal.

And I want to thank the OP for SCREWING UP this auction for the members here. I would have been a bidder, but not now that you have "warned him" without knowing what you are talking about, and scaring the poor guy into demanding an FFL. Thanks a lot... (not).

Ain't that somethin'?

Well played Bushy... This gentlemen is what we get when everybody follows the governments lead and gets into the nanny business...

What's worse is unless somebody sets him straight from now on every conversion he sells he will want to go through an FFL.

"What's worse is unless somebody sets him straight from now on every conversion he sells he will want to go through an FFL. "

Hawg that appears to be the case. I got an email from the seller. He's not gonna be shipping in separate containers or anything like that, he'll have to "manufacture" a firearm from the Uberti and the cylinders, put that on paper and sell only to an FFL holder. Ye gods we are often our worst enemy...

I won't be bidding, the nearest FFL holder that will do this for me without charging 15% (or more) is 50 miles one way. I have better things to do with my time and money.

Oh well, back to watching the auctions!

OP is probably a closet gun grabber, even with his screen name, or thinks that all of us BP shooters need to go thru the gyrations that he has too. SHEESH!

We had a sign at a place I worked where you could kill yourself and others if not careful.
The sign read. CAUTION! If you don't know what you are doing, don't do anythinmg. and the owner meant just that. Perhaps this should apply to folks that don't know the federal law about BP guns.........

^^ what he said. I was planning to bid, and this totaly screwed up what would have been a nice way to get some coversion cylinders.

Suggest the OP be tarred and feathered should he ever deign to join our table again.

I'll lead the charge.

I sent him a PM, to whit:

'A hearty "screw you" from all of us in the black powder forum for screwing up a legal and good auction. Thanks a lot... not.'

No apologies offered. :o
