Tell me again why I buy new guns?

The old cliche that 'they don't make things like they used to' applies to all products with guns being no exception. Sad indeed but it's a sign of the times.

For me to buy new.....

.....it would have to be one that is not readily available on the used market. I would much rather buy used.

I sure wish I had the luck of some of you with new guns. I've rarely ever had problems with used ones, but some of the new ones were total diasters. Taurus, FN, FTL, AMT, Colt, are just a few of the companies whose warranty service I had to deal with. The most expensive gun of the bunch, a Colt Combat Commander Series 80, was a total joke. So many problems, and Colt helped very little. The FN Hi-Power was almost as bad, and FN did little to fix it's feed issues, except give me a different mag. A straightedge showed how messed up it really was. There was a while there where I had several dud guns in a row, and didn't buy any new guns for years.
