Tell Me About Your Experience's With The Glock 27

Was wondering how many of our member's here on TFL regularly shoot a Glock 27? Too me,
these little gems are amazing; as one can
consistently shoot groups around 2" at 25
yds, using the standard Glock sight's!!! :D
In my humble opinion, this may be the best
Glock of them all. :)

I don't get too shoot it as much as I would
like, due to the cost of the ammo. :( This is
the one handgun caliber that I don't reload for!!! :p

Got mine back in '97. Have put a few thousand rounds through it. Have had one failure to feed which occured in the first 200 rounds while the gun was being fired by my buddy who is not proficient with semiautos. Most likely he limp-wristed.

I've never tried mine at 25 yards since I don't ever see me having the need to shoot at someone that far away. However, I can usually put seven of ten inside about three inches at 50 feet consistently.

Am considering getting a .357 sig barrel for it. Just something else to play around with.

Good shooting.

I have the pearce grip with the +1 making it a ten round clip, but the damn thing Kicks hard. I don't carry it, b/c of that reason. I just got a reloading press so I will be making lighter loads so, until I get the recoil diminished, I will keep it in the safe.

I tried a Glock 27 and wasn't impressed. Recoil is like a jackhammer. The G27 really hurt! The Glock 30 (.45 ACP) is so much easier to shoot comfortably despite being a larger caliber.

Got a 27 and love it :) The recoil is a bit snappy but I don't mind it. My gun has the factory adjustables on it and is really accurate. I was impressed how accurate it really was,it out shoots my 8040 Cougar.
I also have the Pierce grip extender on it,it makes it nicer to grip.
I really like it and I'm glad I bought it ;)
Use it for my No#1 carry piece. Thought about getting the Sig barrel for it but didn't get that far yet.
I guess I'm a happy Glockster :)

I've had my G27 for about three years. It's never had a malfuction of any type. The first time I took it to the range, the first round I fired went into the "X" ring. I knew that my 27 was something special. Some people do have a problem with the recoil. When I got mine, I figured that the Federal Hydra-Shok "PD" would be easier on the pistol since it had a softer recoil. It's really pretty nice. Even my wife enjoys shooting my 27. (And she just started shooting about a year ago.)
My Glock 27 is my favorite pistol.

I just know I want one real bad. They are rumored to get better groups than their full sized counterparts.

I don't have a 27 myself...yet, but I have several friends that own 27's and I get to shoot them quite quite a bit. I LOOOOVE it! :)

The gun just plain rocks. And I don't find the recoil objectionable at all, either. It's a small gun, they're going to be bit snappier for it, but for it's size and the power of the round, I'm amazed at how controllable they are. The 27 and the 29 are my two favorite Glocks, I don't own either personally, but shoot both regularly with good friends.

I have one good friend who has a pair of the limited-edition chrome slide 27's he occasionally straps on in a dual-holster shoulder rig. That's fun to play with, let me tell you. A 27 under each arm makes for one serious reload. ;)

Use mine as an on-duty backup to my M22 and a summer time carry gun. I love it, though I don't shoot as well with it as I do with the full size. This is understandable with the shorter sight radius. Nevertheless, I am still more than able to engage combat-sized targets effectively. I don't plan to ever switch from my M22/M27 combo.

You are almost right! The only Glock I don't care for, it just doesn't feel good in my hand, is the Glock 22. I bought a new 22 and traded it away unfired as I didn't warm to it.

The Glock 27 is the apple of my eyes. I am getting tired of saying it but this little pistol thinks it can do it all. I have yet to see something it can't do.

I have a lot of rounds through mine and I have never had a bobble with the 40 S&W. I had a couple of failures to feed with the Partigm? 357 Sig barrel I purchased but it even settled in.

I do not mind the recoil with 40 S&W cartridges. When you get to the 357 Sig you have a horse of a different color. It kicks, roars, and spits fire. Even so the 357 Sig is fun.

If you want to make the 27 easier to shoot get a Model 23 magazine and A&G Adapter. You will swear you are shooting a Model 23.

Do you have a feeling I really like my Model 27? If so, you are on target.

Regards,

Richard

I guess I'm going to take the flipside of Richard's opinion.

I really like my G22, but found that the recoil of the G27 made follow up shots difficult. I prefer the G30 to the G27.

I guess it's a matter of taste, practice, and natural ability. I just found that I had to work harder to make the G27 suit my needs.

". Recoil is like a jackhammer. "

I have a glock 33(357 sig), and the recoil is quite manageable. Don't know if the 27 is worse or not, but I like the 33 a lot.

My two cents: The G-27 is excellent. I think the G-27 is probably one of the best subcompact defensive handguns due to its size-to-power and weight-to-power ratios, as well as all the other benefits of other Glocks.

Recoil is not a problem for me whatsoever. A good Weaver stance works for me.

Great little pistol. A primary carry gun of mine in the fall when I wear pullovers. I carry it in an Alessi RCMP Drivers X-Draw.

Wow. As you may know from an earlier post, I recently won the non big bore Glock of my choice, and I chose the 27. Gald to hear all of the positive feedback.

Now if I can just hold on until I get it in my hand!

I purchased a Glock 27 to take the place of a S&W J-frame revolver. The J-frame loaded with +P ammo, was distinctly less pleasent to shoot then the Glock 27 loaded with CorBon ammo. I even called the company to double check the ammo, as I expected more recoil then I was getting. As I had one of the first Glock 27s in the area at the time, they borrowed the gun and it became an immediate favorite gun for that caliber.

Later I took the Glock 27 to a summer LEO shoot hosted by our state. In shooting against full size duty guns in timed courses, I found it to be the equal, if not best gun, for scores on their course of fire.
I had learned from a Glock rep that due to the abbreviated grip, shooters who "milked" the grip ofteh shot much better with the 27.

I carry the 27 daily, in an Alessi ankle holster. It is loaded with CorBon 135 gr. JHP ammunition. It's profile is flatter then the J-frame it replaced with double the capacity. I have avoided the magazine extensions and the gun has Trijicon night sights.

Kilroy, my 27 is my everyday companion in an Alessi ankle holster. I can't say enough good things about the Alessi ankle rig. Simply fantastic. I have the Pearce +1 ext on one of my mags. I also have a 30. While the 30 does 'push', more than 'snap', the 27 is certainly not objectionable. The 27, in my humble estimation, is simply the most amazing combination of power, accuracy, and size available. It is my go everywhere gun.
