Tell me about your 32ACP pocket pistol

I have two pocket models, a stainless Tomcat and a Seecamp.

I like the feel of the Tomcat, but don't trust it. The stainless one I have now is the replacement Beretta sent me because the frame on my blued Tomcat broke. On the stainless model, the slide is a little thicker than on the blued model. I no longer carry it.

The Seecamp is exceptionally well made and reliable. The only bad thing about them is that they're hard to find. Here in northern VA they go for $600-$700. I got mine through Newington Gun Shop, in CT for $450. That's a good place to do business with. I strongly recommend them.

I also have two other 32 acps, but I don't consider them pocket guns. They are a Sig P230 (which I just don't like) and a CZ 83 (excellent target gun).

I have an Autuaga .32 and a Kel-Tec P-32. Both are great guns. The Autauga isn't made anyone but I have heard CDNN had a bunch a few months ago. Autauga is negotiating with another manufacturer to sell the design so it may be back again. I had one of the few Seecamps that had problems, sold it to a friend who got it working after some work. The big drawback with Seecamp is availability and the cost, although a few folks have gotten good deals on it.

Another vote for the P32 Kel-Tec. Can't judge it against other .32acps since it is my first, but I am really impressed by this little feather weight.

My P32 has been reliable and accurate from day one - no fluff 'n buff of any kind needed. I highly recommend this pistol.

HMMhhmmm...32's, OK

I LIKE .32ACP pocket pistols. Everybody here knows that. In regards to my P-32: It's an early model. I purchased it as a blue (Looked black to me) model after looking for one for almost a year. I immediately sent the top end to Kel-Tec for the hard chrome exchange. They sent me the chrome parts right back and the P-32 looked great! I didn't do a "fluff & buff". I just cleaned and lubed and took it to the range. I've NEVER had a FTF, or extract, light primer strike, or jam of any type. When I ordered the chrome parts, I asked the gunsmith to polish the feed ramp. He obviously had done so because the feed ramp was coated with polishing dust. My P-32 has fired everything I've stuffed into the mag...no exceptions. For me, the thing that ruined the looks of my P-32 was that rough-lined extractor. I couldn't hardly look at it. I recently sent my P-32 back agan and it came home in two days. (!)
This time the grip frame was gray (That looks just great!) and that rough-lined extractor had been replaced by a smooth one. I had just sent the pistol in for a new gray grip frame, however to my astonishment, they sent me two new mags and replaced all the internals. New springs, just everything. I was flabbergasted! It was like a new pistol. When I opened the bill...(TA DA!).the balance read "0".
My Guardian: It WAS a little ammo sensitive. It seems it was only 100% with Silvertips and Fiocchi FMJ/HP. That was OK with me since I liked all three types of ammo. However, I began to read about the new, hot Cor-Bon so I tried some of that. I filled the mag and to my surprise, it chambered the C-B slick as you please! Something, I guess "shooter's intuition", told me to do some checking though. (BEFORE shooting!) I got my calipers and measured a new and unchambered C-B out of the box. Then I ejected an unfired C-B from my Guardian and measured it. Actually, I didn't even need the calipers to see the problem. "Bullet setback", and really bad. I ejected the second cartridge and it was even worse than the first. I went through the entire mag to make sure before I called NAA. Yep! Every single one had been set back. Carl, the gunsmith at NAA did a few "adjustments", sent me two new mags, and I tried again. This time the chambered cartridges all measured the same as the boxed ones. Guardians do seem heavy. However, I have solved this problem with a RJ Hedley back pocket holster. It spreads the weight around and my Guardian feels just like another wallet. No more weight problems with mine.
My Seecamp: Well, there's not much to say here. It's a Seecamp. In my opinion the finest .32ACP pocket pistol ever built. Silvertips "keyhole" from mine, but Gold Dots work just fine. So do MagSafes. Even with no sights, I can do headshots with the Gold Dots all day from 15 feet. (Or at least until my hand begins to hurt!)
WOW! I think this is my longest post ever!

Just bought a Tanfoglio SuperTitan .32, not yet fired it. Can anyone tell me what they've heard or know about this gun?

I'm starting a new thread on the subject.

Thanks,

I have a Walther PP, and a Kel-Tec P32. One thing that hasn't been adequately mentioned is that the P32 is amazingly accurate. I couldn't believe the groups I was shooting with it. I snapped a friend of mine when I said, "You see that shotgun shell over there ?" And I hit it on the second shot at about 15 yards. 25 yard shots ? No problem. Usable sights, natural pointing; when I bring the gun up to the target, the sights are right where they need to be. And most important of all is that the gun shoots right where the top of that front sight is looking. I have had reliablility problems with mine, but it is smoothing out. Speaking of Kel-Tec, everyone tells of what great service they got from Kel-Tec. I sent in the slide of my P11 to get the hard chrome, and it has been gone for easlily a month. I am starting to wonder if it is lost. I guess I will call them Monday. The Walther; what can you say ? Good Looking, also accurate, a little big for carry, why carry something that big when you can carry a P11 in 9mm ? I think there is something to be said about the inherent accuracy of the .32 ACP cartridge. Both mine are as accurate as anything else I own.

Hey 444 I sent my P-40 slide and barrel back for hard chroming and night sights and I got it back within a week. Send them an E mail and find out if it got lost in the mail. This is very unusual because they have a rep of being a very good company to deal with. I also have a hardchomed P-32 and it has never malfunctioned in anyway. I carry it daily as a LEO backup gun, in a Ken Campbell pocket holster and I love the little jewel. Seven of my buds have bought P-32s on my reccomendation and they are all happy with theirs. I also own a prewar Nazi Walther PP in .32, a Colt 1903, a Nazi Mauser and several other semiautos from WW-2 in 7.65mm, are in my gun collection. The P-32 is the one that gets carried.

Kel-Tec P32 gets another vote. Mine has been 100% reliable, concealable, lightweight and accurate. What more could you ask for $193?

A another company does chroming for KT and sometimes KT is waiting to get a batch of slides from them. If they had them in stock when your slide arrived, you would have had it back by now. This happens occasionally, sounds like you just had bad timing. Do call them just to make sure they got your slide.

Yes, I called them this morning. They said they sent it on the 14th and my scheduled delivery date is tomorrow. I knew that they didn't do any hard chroming themselves, and I figured that I hit them at a time when they didn't have any in stock. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't lost.

like my p 32 kel tec,no problems shoots fine, sent it back to the factory for a chromed slide, had a problem with a little rusting from packing it in my pocket and sweeting, kind of looks like a minuture sig to tone now

Kel-Tec P-32 with the belt clip accessory. I hide mine behind my belt buckle when dressed for work. Perfect hideaway.

Someone else on this thread mentioned that it feels a little heavy in the pocket; I concur. I have only had mine out shooting twice, but I believe I only had one malfunction- I somehow must have managed to pull down on the curved part of the extended floorplate magazine with a finger while pressing the mag release with some fleshy part of my (medium size) hand. All of this while firing, yet. The pistol jammed but cleared easily.

I had no other malfunctions with PMC FMJ, Winchester Silvertips, Corbons, or a box of Winchester FMJ I have had for at least 16 years!

DA only trigger is a little heavy, and recoil is noticeable from such a small handgun- it's kind of "Makarov-like".

All in all, though, I like it and it makes a good deep concealment piece.

Its my always gun. If deep deep CCW is needed, its there.

An update on my Kel-Tec P-11 slide. I didn't check to see if it came in today as promised, but I did check when I sent it to them. It was sent the 24th of last month, so it took almost a month to get it back. This isn't going to keep me awake at night or anything, just wanted to keep people informed.
I sent them the slide and barrel for my P32 today. Hopefully I will have a little better turn around this time.
One thing that disappointed me is that they don't have hard chromed belt clips, or the steel pins that hold the gun together and the belt clip on. These got some rust on them on my P11. The slide never did rust. I am going to send a Browning HP to Checkmate to be hard chromed, I am going to see if I can send my belt clips, the mags, and those two pins for each Kel-Tec gun to them and have them hard chromed at the same time. Hopefully it won't be a problem.

I always thought that I would prefer a 22 over a 32.
When i bought my P32 I shot it into gallon milk jugs filled with water. I was close to the milk jugs maybe 3 feet. The Winchester silvertip penetrated 3 gallon jugs of water breaking th back side of the 3rd jug. If it will penetrate 3 gallon jugs of water I am sure that it will be effective on a bad guy at close range.

Years ago I did the same thing with my 45 penetrating 2 jugs of water.

NAA Gaurdian

I've had mine for 2+ years and while it is a bit heavy, it's 100% reliable and fits great in any pocket (I perfer ther rear) and on the ankle.

For those that mentioned an NAA guardian, I knew they made some SA 22 cal wheelguns, but are their 32's autos? ;) I used to have their catalog, but until recently, I didn't pay much attention to 32's :(

So I guess that means a .32 ACP beats out a .45??? :D
