Tell me about Glocks ...

Well, history writes that musashi did bathe, but he had his sword right there with him. Check out the Tryptych painted by by Kuniyoshi, c 1836. A quote from cooper in response to an interviewer who asked him what he was afraid of drew a short pause from cooper and the quote "nothing..now."

Just curious, is there a REASON for the HOA requiring the exterior door on the bathroom? Don't think I have ever seen a house with a bathroom like that.

The housebreaker would be confronted suddenly by a naked and very angry fat man (as ugly as Janet Reno), armed with a 12 ga!

:D :D :D What are you gonna do when the cops come ?
Better shower with a sock handy.

Don't think I have ever seen a house with a bathroom like that.
All single floor homes whose floorplan has bathroom with a wall facing the backyard, must have an outside door in that bathroom leading to the backyard. Our master bedroom runs along the left side of the house with one outside wall being the from of the house and another outside wall being the left side of the house. The master bath, also shares the left outside wall and the back of the house wall -- as a result, it must have a door leading into the backyard.

When the house was being built, I told the builder that I didn't want that door but was informed that it was required by the Association in this sub-division and sure enough, it was there in the by-laws. It's a heavy metal storm door but still ...

Nail in wall next to shower, sock on nail in wall next to shower, Glock in sock.

Seriously box on wall, if room laid out handy, box could be reachable from shower or from pot. Pot shot?

FUD: So there isn't a reason?

I think I would make the master bath into a major safe room since it has an exit built into it. I have seen plans for adding that into a bath off of the master bed room with an exit only door that just looks like siding from the outside.

There's no reason that I know of other than "... it's a requirement of the Association by-laws ...". I really don't have a problem with it except I feel a little bit vulnerable if I making a midnight reading trip and an outside door is right there and there is no method of defense nearby. During the normal waking hours, I carry in the house so it doesn't bother me but I feel a little strange bringing a firearm with me at night when I go to the bathroom. Thus, the question of maybe storing a Glock somewhere within reach.

FUD, that is a weird rule. But where does it say that Home Owners' Association's rules have to make sense?

Someone else suggested a G26, I would like to add the G27. It has the exact same demensions as the G26 only it is chambered in .40 *&*. I have never shot a G27 so I can't offer any more info on it. I have a G30 myself and love it.
About the trigger pull and lack of a manual safety (other than the trigger safety) you could get a product called a Saf-T-Block which is a little device that sits behind your trigger on a Glock and on the draw from the holster (if you are carrying in a holster) you push the device from behind the trigger with your trigger finger then go from there. I have never used one so I can't say how well it works only that many who have this fear find it useful. Hope this helped.

FUD, see how you like the Glock 27. If the grip is too short, you can put on a pierce grip extension and have 10+1 rounds of 40 as a bonus, just in case you come under heavy fire in that bathroom. Pretty hard to beat the size-capacity ratio of the 27, plus I find mine very accurate. Don't know much about the 30, except that it's somewhat bigger and fatter, though supposedly very accurate too. BTW, I finally got that 85UL this weekend, and it's pretty sweet.

FUD,

Bolt the door down. Problem solved. ;)

I don't know where you guys live, but I'm glad I don't live in a place that I think I need a gun in every room! :)

In truth, many doors, and your metal one is a case in point, are probably more secure than the outside walls. Many houses have nothing but some insulating board and aluminum siding on the outside, and 1/2" wallboard on the inside. The fiberglass insulation isn't going to stop anyone. You could quite literally kick a hole in the wall of the average house.

The same goes for a secure door in a "safe room". Interior walls are hardly secure, you don't need any tools to break through a wall in a heartbeat.

How? If a gun doesn't have a manual safety, then I prefer a heavier trigger pull as found on DA revolvers -- it's a personal thing ... hard to teach an old dog new tricks ;)
FUD,
Trigger jobs on glocks are just a matter of swapping out two parts. The connector, and trigger spring. You can get lighter, or heavier trigger pulls by different combinations of these parts. For example, the stock trigger pull on all Glocks is 5.5lbs. I did not like that on my carry pistol. I wanted something lighter, that emulated the 1911 in condition one. I opted for the 3.5lb connector with the reduced power trigger spring. My trigger pull is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3lbs now. Glock makes 8, and 12lb connectors along with various weights of springs. It is Alice's Resturant!!!! Also, the effect, and function of the three internal safeties are not conpromised by this as the Glock is a modular design.

Yeah, I got a permit to carry,it's called the friggin Constitution.---Ted Nugent

"Glock 26: 17 rounds of concealed carry DEATH comming your way from out of nowhere!!! THAT'S FIREPOWER, BABY!!!"

If it were my Glock, I'd keep it stashed at the bottom of the toilet tank, as everyone knows it's best to keep Glocks immersed in water when not in use. Since Glock doesn't make ammunition yet, it is still a good idea to keep it dry by stashing the magazine in the center of the TP roll for instance. If it must come out of the toilet tank, try not to let it get too dry, and for God's sake DON'T OIL IT!!! I don't know how many people make this mistake. Never treat a Glock the way you would treat an "ordinary" pistol. Instead, kick it around in the sand, throw it as hard as you can against a brick wall, run it over with the truck, use a bunch of them as tire chain cleats for safe winter driving....whatever. Just don't ever clean, oil, or "baby" in any other way these indestructible weapons. You'll be glad you didn't...
Happy Flushing!

I took with me also one of my CCW in the bathroom (but that is only during night time). My pistols (sometimes 1 or 2 are under my pillow and I am used to it. Gee!! I thought I am the only guy bringing my gun in the bathroom.

Cleaning the Glock with soap is so Exaggerated. No wonder it is called a tupperware.
