Ted Nugent on NRA-NEWS: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT

Just saw an interview with Ted on Cam and Company. And the man advocated, and I am not kidding here, he advocated Vermont-Style CCW all throughout the Union. This is a rather, well, extremist view, coming from an NRA Board member.

Now, here's my question - does this actually denote a change of direction?

I'm confused

This is what packing.org says about Vermont

"Vermont is unique in that permits are not required for carry concealed or unconcealed for resident and non-resident alike. Local ordinances vary, though. VT has no statutes concerning concealed carry, nor is there a specific statute that allows it. In the absence of a statute that prohibits it, then it is taken that there is no law against it."

What's wrong with that?"

I am perfectly fine with that. However, it's uncommon for the NRA, with their "compromise" and "enforce existing law" stance, to be advocating that.

Hmmmmm

Maybe Ted is trying to turn the ship. One board member doesn't represent the entire organization, but it could be a start!

That's what I was thinking. Is anybody here better-aware of the internal Board of Directors politics?

BTW,

News Shooter, WELCOME ABOARD!

New Guy Buys The Ammo!

:D :D :D :D :D :D

The Nuge is the Nuge!

Unless brother Ted was speaking as a Board Member, his comments reflect his opinion alone.

He was speaking at a supposedly offical event, televised on NRANews.com.

And while it of course obviously wasn't fully "the official opinion", one wonders if it signifies a change.

This is one of the reasons I voted for him and others on the ballot who share his point of view on the right to armed self-defense.

Go Ted!!!

"I'm all for Ted taking over the NRA."

AMEN to that!!!

The NRA needs to start singing from the same sheet of music as Gun Owners of America and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership. The right to arms is every bit as absolute a right as any other in the Bill of Rights, peroid. We all need to start acting like it is!!

The only caveat I would offer to Ted is this - he might want to tone down his rhetoric a bit. Alot of the "reasonable" people in this nation may dismiss his as an extremist nut job, based on his delivery, not his message.

His message is not extreme - it is the same message sent by the Founders, to wit: There is no such thing as "reasonable" gun control.

If "the Government" took the 2nd Amendment at face value, carrying a weapon would be no different than carrying a wallet or a cell phone. We would even be flying armed, and September 11 would have turned out quite differently.

Uncle Ted is Uncle Ted. Like him or not, he is probably the most well-known, most supportive person you will find for our cause.

Heck, when at his concert, his decorations were machine guns, shotguns, assualt rifles, hunting rifles, probably over a dozen. He shot a big paper Saddam with an arrow on stage. His closing statement was 'Support the second amendment! Buy everyone you know a gun!'.

Ya, I've been looking for some pix of that...

Rich, the distinction being that Unkie Ted has a wider audience than, say, Uncle Jeff, especially with these kids today. :D

New from TFL Records: "Jeff Cooper Rocks"! All the attitude, all the glitz, all the screaming guitar licks from Jeff Cooper that you love so much. :D

These kids today don't know what Unkie Bobby and Unkie Jeff have said decades before Terrible Ted was on their radar.

asl, none of my pics came out too good, but you can clearly see the Browning .30 MG in this pic, right to the right of him:
