TC Contender

Just come from the woods. Took a nice 6 point with 357 herrett. Have played with this round for 20 years. I know there is better just have not tryed them yet

I agree frist run brass is a pain in the... I use a 4 in grinder to cut them off then put on a trimer complete. Same way with the whisper alittle faster than just triming.

Had a 14" that was very accurate that I liked and shot quite abit. Had a 10" that after 6 months of load devolopment still couldn't do better than 2" groups at 100 yrds so I didn't care for that one as much.

Have bought and traded on and off with barrels but have stuck with the herrett. It is a 10 bull from bulberry barrels with 4 power leipol. has alwas shot great. Picked up a 358 Win at a gun show years back, shot it few times, kicked like a mule. JD Jones said it was not safe but it shot good.

Was going to say 30 years but just realized it's a lot closer to 40 now.Bought my first contender in 73 after getting out of the army, an have been shooting one or another ever since.Have both contender [old style] and Encore frames, and a few barrels for both types.22 ,221,223 ,260 rem.308,35 rem,375JDJ,44 ,444, 45 ,45/70.

Had a 358 Super Bower which is basically a 356win with a hair shorter neck. Should have never let that one go but it scared me abit. I have a nasty habit of loading to the limit (stretched a frame with my 444 that way) and that one just begged to be hot rodded.

Too many barrels..

not enough FRAMES!

Especially the 10' octagon barrels, need to get the .256Mag & .22Hornet barrels.

Have a 21" 30/30 looking for a 16" / 21" .22Hornet or .223. or a rough .22hornet and rebore / rechamber to .222 Rem or .221Fireball. (that will be a hoot!)
