Taurus Snub: 85 vs 905

I noticed that, Smince. With Fullfog now on board, North Alabama has strong representation here, wouldn't you say?

How is this for an idea. I have a credit card that ought to cover some burgers and fries for all of us; you guys tell me when you can meet up around lunch some time. We can all eat on my nickel, then head over to Larry's to demonstrate our skill, or lack thereof, with our pocket 905s and whatever other handguns you bring along.

Sound like a plan?

And if I invite Larry himself to the feed (he and I eat together most every day), you can get details on his next big sale.

What do you think?

Sounds cool.

But I've been on vacation for 11 days.:D

I'm gonna have A LOT of work to catch up on.

But I might let you know sometime.:)

I sent Taurus a letter describing the problems I had with the moon clips and letting them know it might be a problem for customer service in the future.

Got an envelope from them today with two packets of moon-clips and a thank you. How about that?

help

Someone help me understand, you are seriously considering a gun you need moon clips or a tool to reload instead of a regular revolver. I own a blue m85 (that shoots better than my 6" 689) and NOTHING could be simpler, especially for HD.

I regularly buy factory reloads (Black Hills) at gun shows for $5 or $6 a box and have no fear they aren't powerful enough to stop some BG in my hallway.
These are 158 gr. swc.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but the 905 makes no sense to me.

I have to say I agree. It seems like going out of your way to make something harder than it needs to be.

No tool needed. The rounds snap into the clips and snap out. Some of the .45ACP rounds suppossedly need a tool, but my fingers worked on the one's I had for my 1917 S&W(this isn't a new concept). Competition shooters use tools, but I believe this is because they shoot hundreds at a time.

BTW, it is a "regular, 5-shot, DAO revolver". Good way to dispose of bad reloads or factory rounds that won't feed in your auto, too.

I consider the clips to be the ultimate speed loader. No buttons or knobs, and five or six load as fast as one. And, depending on the bullet, you can carry at least two and maybe three reloads in a single speedloader pouch. With a rounded ogive on the nose of an HP round (or an FMJ), they practically load themselves.:D

I've heard they can get bent, but mine haven't yet. But I haven't stepped on any of mine.

I've owned all kinds of revolvers. I happen to like the ones chambered for auto rounds that load with clips.

I have several Taurus handguns and enjoy them all. My latest (about a year ago) is the model 605. Anyway, it's well made and fun to shoot. (More fun with 38's than 357's.) :) Serously, if you keep a good grip, the recoil is manageable. Straight forward loading, no clips, 357 mag/38spl., small , light, and at 7 yards you can put them all in a tiny group. And if you need it, statistics show it'll be under 7 yards.
