Taurus phone extension to a person who will help?

For nearly a year and a half now I've had a brand new, $466, Taurus paper weight. Ok, not quite that bad. At times the gun is half usable. Still, it was in horrible condition out of the box and remains in bad condition after several trips to Taurus. They've even sent it back in the condition of falling apart. Literally fell into pieces. Who ever answers the phone wont do anything but say "send it in". I've supposedly been transferred to managers and supervisors to leave messages but I haven't gotten calls back from them.

Does anyone have an extension to someone in the company who might help me? A $466 new in box paper weight is pretty ridiculous.

How attached to this Taurus are you?

Have you considered selling, trading, or pawning it and getting something that you can actually enjoy instead of be constantly irritated by?

This was not a shot at Taurus, please don't throw things at me:)

Oh yes, I very much want to get rid of after this last trip back with no repairs done. I'd have to tell who ever I'm selling/pawning/trading it to that it's been a POS though... would it still sell for much? 2.5 inch cylinder, 3 inch barrel, 2 tone Judge. Looks bad ass, works like ass. And don't worry, I'll never touch another Taurus product.

Why do you have to do that?

Gun stores, especially alot of private ones, sell "as is." New or used - if it breaks or is a POS, that's your problem.

Doesn't that work both ways?

I guess it would be an ethics thing. I would just feel bad if I didn't mention the problems. Although there is one gun shop that treated me poorly on two different visits. I wouldn't mind dumping it on them. Actually that is a good idea, I'll see what they'll give me.

Is this gun a semiauto or a revolver?

there is no directory of phone extensions outside of the taurus building. the general public has no way to get that.

the problem is this, no one gets special treatment from taurus unless you are a distributor for their products. otherwise be content when you call and the front desk receptionist is there to pick the phone up.

if you ever have the time or boredom, call them up and ask them information about a particular handgun. all that clicking youll here is the employee on the phone going through the Taurus website we can go to.

A lifetime warranty is only as good as the service behind it. I will never send a gun back to those animals again.

Granted Taurus has god awful customer service and may employee chimps in their repair department, your not using it so just send it in and they may eventually fix. Once you get it back, sell it. Selling your broken Taurus to a gun shop does them no harm, they'll just turn around and sell it to one of us for twice what they paid. Not to mention the beating you'll take selling a Taurus to a gun shop. Honesty is the best policy.

Why don't you take it back where you bought it and let them deal with the warrenty?

The place I bought it from is on the other side of the state. I talked to them right away and their only help was "take it to your local shop and they'll send it in for you." I have since found a really good shop with some very great guys who continue to send it in for me. That's all I've got though. Seems like at this point some sort of lemon law would force them to replace the gun or refund my money. I listen to Handel on the Law a lot. Getting a judgement is simple. Getting anyone to pay it is pretty difficult.

Principles aside, could it be fixed by a local gunsmith? Then you could sell it and at least get something out of it. Or talk to some gun folks around and you may find someone who wants a project gun and would be willing to give you something for it.

The truth is you will never get out of it what you paid, but you would not even if it worked perfectly.

Just curious, did anybody warn you about Taurus?

If what you are saying is factual, it's good to spread the word.

I think Taurus, as many other gun manufacturers sell guns that never get used enough to find out there flaw's. So when they get a bad one come in, they have others that will never find out until it's to late. That's why it's so easy to put the life time warranty on there gun's.

That's why when my "Stupid" buddy bought a Taurus (605 .357 3") against my protest's ($80 cheaper than a Ruger SP101), I demanded he take it to the range, and put at least a few wheels through it, along with his brand new Mossberg 500. He put 30 rounds of non .357s and non +Ps, and one round through his 12ga. He wasn't even going to test one gun, and he was going to carry the 605 down town Las Vegas were he lives every day.

Enough said

I had a \NIB 709 slim 9mm ,that needed a new extractor, after only a few rounds.called taurus, they sent over fedex to pick it up,paid for the shipping, sent it back in a few weeks, paid, and it hasnt missed a beat since.

At the time I did not know about their reputation. I figured since they're a big name that I see around a lot they must be pretty good.

I don't know if it's because they produce and sell so many guns, but I've never heard so many bad things about any other gun company, at least online.
I do know the range masters at my range laugh at people when they have problems with there Taurus's.

In there defense, I bought a new 608 8 shot revolver that turned out to be rather impressive, and still is for my brother. But I updated to S&Ws. Of course, it did cost me almost three time more for my M327 R8 & M627 V-comp.
